Then as they were traveling with them many of them died because they became sick. As they were dying the people that took them started to throw them over board. This impacted them a lot because now many of the people that used to live a free life now have no power. The slaves never saw or met white people so the slaves always thought they were cannibals, so they committed suicide or starved them self. They didn't have rights like the white people did. So they were treated very badly. I think that they did have slavery in French Louisiana because we had very fertile soil to grow crops and to harvest the crops.
