Both my parents are from Haiti. Ever since I was young, I took so much pride in being Haitian, and I still do. Even with the negative jokes and stereotypes Haitians typically get, I never stopped showing my pride for the country I love.

The values that lead my actions are honesty and compassion. I feel like honesty leads my actions because without honesty, you can't say how you feel, or you can't express yourself. Another value is compassion, which leads my actions because if I truly care about something, like a conflict, I'd be passionate about solving the issue.

Some people I care about are my friends and family, and a place I would value is my home. I value these things because without my friends, I would feel isolated, and I wouldn't have anyone to express myself to.

Some goals I want to grow from these actions are prosperity and success. I value these 2 because I feel that without success, you're not really where you need to be in life, and if your not prosperous, whether it's with family, friends or money, life wouldn't be peaceful for me.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, I always felt like this was my home. Being a Haitian American living in Brooklyn was always easy because it wasn't hard finding other Haitian Americans or Caribbean people I could personally connect and relate to. Brooklyn will forever be my home, my childhood, the food, the nostalgia, friends, and family will be unforgettable.

Brownsville is the neighborhood I grew up in. Growing up in this neighborhood was honestly bittersweet, from the never-ending violence to the nostalgic memories of growing up here. Even though Brownsville seems to have a bad reputation, it will always be my home no matter what. The friends and memories I made here will always have a place in my heart.

Another value that leads my actions is understanding. I'd say understanding is one of the main values that lead my actions because, when going into any situation, you have to handle it with understanding, whether it's good or bad. Understanding the person and situation will honestly make things easier.

I feel like the Environment is another value that leads my actions because the environment I'm in affects how I act, speak, or feel. If I'm in an environment where im surrounded with people I know personally, I'm going to be outgoing and talkative. If I were in an unfamiliar environment with people I don't socialize with often, im going to be quite shy, and not as outgoing.

A goal I want to grow from these actions is stability. I want to learn how to be stable financially and personally. Being stable would mean having a peaceful life, knowing I wouldn't have to worry about anything.

Another goal I want to grow from these actions is Wisdom. I feel like Wisdom is a goal I would want to have because knowing a lot about things, like life lessons, would be so good. I could pass on the knowledge to other people and avoid certain situations or conflicts.

Something I value is getting good grades. I think getting good grades is laying the foundation of how the rest of your school life will look, specifically high school. Getting good grades is an important value for me because I like to hold myself to a high standard, and it's also just a sign of being successful early on.
