I think this was a very important start to public education. The idea that every kid can get schooling for free paid for by everyone. This was an important jump into education for America, that in order to make smart choices they must be somewhat educated to do so. I think it was important to start education for all because whether someone wants to take advantage of this is on them but to have it as an option for all is important.

2. The Progressive Education Association

I think the principles of the progressive education association are very important. The principle that every student learns at their own pace is very accurate, sometimes it takes some students longer to grasp concepts than others. The idea that the teacher is a guide is important as well because some kids need just that, guidance. It is important to foster these young kids to learn the way they are able to.

This case made it illegal to separate white students from non-white students. I think this was a huge milestone in history. This case made it possible for all students to be in one classroom no matter their race which I believe is crucial for all kids. I think it is important for kids to learn at a young age that just because the color of someones skin is different does not mean they are different on the inside. Kids are so innocent when they are young that it is important to teach them to love everyone no matter their race. This case made it possible for this to happen in schools.

This case allowed for the public to be taxed to fund secondary and elementary schools. The public being taxed for an opportunity for every student to receive public education is a small price to pay in my mind. This case made it an opportunity for all kids rich or poor for the same opportunity which I believe is important. Every child should have the same ability to go to school so they can better themselves and their situation, whatever it may be.

5. No Child Left Behind Act

Focuses on minority students who are not doing as well in their classes. I think this is important because we want equal opportunities for all children and it is important to have assessments to see where each child is at and to see which ones need a little extra help which could eventually help them out in the long run. If they are able to keep up with the rest of their class even if they were behind in the beginning is a huge win for the student on an emotional level as well.
