I'm intrigued by the design-thinking process and am trying to wrap my mind around possibilities for it in my English classes. Time to brainstorm possibilities within our departments.

We do this--without the same terminology--in publications.

I am curious to see how I can incorporate the HACCP plan into this model. Maybe get a restaurant owner to partner with us to give us some real break downs in the cycle?

I think it's an awesome idea; but, need way more time to consider how to implement in the English classroom. I'd like to see examples of how this strategy in the English classroom--if possible.

This would be really interesting to apply to a performing arts course. A lot of my kids already do this sort of thing with characterization and interpretation of literature. However, I am wondering how I can take my kids deeper into their characterizations or interpretations of their competition pieces. My kids could possibly seek out people who are facing problems or similar situations their characters are facing in the literature. Something to think about.

I am still struggling with the reality of this in history, but the idea of defining a problem I can see as useful. I think working cross-curricular would be the way to make this real.

I would be interested in some how incorporating this in my Care and Guidance class. My idea right now would be focusing on providing preschool to all children.

I am interested in this but am having trouble coming up with real world problems related to my content area. I would like help thinking of the ideas to see how it would work in a Spanish Classroom.

We do quite a bit of this in Leadership. With more guidelines and walking them through this process, it might put them in a different frame of mind when brainstorming.

This would be a way to allow students to go through the design process of building a set. See their ideas through fruition to performance.

Any kind of "seeking answers to problems" scenario is intriguing. Trying to figure out a problem that could be concretely met in a short period of time.

To take this to a level with my students that would be meaningful will be a challenge. The process is interesting, but I will have to search for solvable problems in our area.

I think it would be challenging to apply this idea to a English class problem, but I think it would be interesting to follow through on the idea of creating better or more authentic communication within our learners.

This would be a great tool for our nutrition and fitness unit. Kids could design a nutrition plan, exercise plan, and then potential carry it out and see the results.

By the end of October, my students will have their project proposals done, including their well defined problem statements and background research. This will include market analysis and STEM aspects.

I think that this would be very challenging to incorporate in a visual arts unit/lesson. I can see that a problem can be researched and maybe students could then capture the problem through images, but to show a solution would be more difficult.

I could see a lot of ways to incorporate in the social sciences. History and current society is full of conflict. Digging deeper into the conflict provides a great opportunity for relevance.
