         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>More well-known as Girón, is a municipality of the department of Santander, that forms part of the Metropolitan area of Bucaramanga to the northeast of Colombia. The municipality is known nationally for its old town characterized by its Spanish colonial architecture.</em></div><div><em><br>The town of Girón was founded in 1631. Because of its architecture of the colonial era was recognized as National Monument of Colombia in 1959, a fact that was ruled in 1963.</em></div>]]></description>

         <title>Basilica Minor San Juan Bautista</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>His temple began its construction in 1639 and was completed in 1883, in a kind of replica of the famous Church of Santa Maria in Rome, Italy. Here the image of the Lord of Miracles is venerated. Its antiquity and the devotion of the faithful motivated the Vatican State to consecrate it in the category of Minor Basilica in 1998. Its architectural composition consists of five altars, two lateral and two chapels; one functions as a Museum of Religious Art. It also has 16 columns, arches and windows.<br><br>Located in the main park, Cl. 30 # 26-54, Girón, Santander.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>The first chapel of Giron, Nuestra Senora de las Nieves, is located in front of the park of the same name and dates back 400 years. It is one of the most photographed prayer sites in the country, as a traditional place of the Old Town of Colonia. <br><br>In its enclosure is the image of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Snows, inside a dressing room.          <description><![CDATA[<div><em>More known as the park of lovers, thanks to its lighting and romantic style, this site began the first village of the municipality, within the framework of this park was built the famous chapel called the Humilladero or Nazarene.<br>Intervened in the nineties with a stone recess and stone elements of Barichara, as well as the source used by visitors to ask for wishes, made in barjaara stone, still to this day are kept in good condition.<br><br>Located two blocks from the Basilica Menor San Juan De Giron on Calle 30 with Carrera 28.</em></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>These elevated steps form part of the old town of Girón and were built at the same time. <br><br>Six bridges, on the Las Nieves ravine, facilitate vehicular and pedestrian access to the center of the municipality.<br><br> Antón García, San José, El Moro, San Benito, Las Nieves, Los Mirtos are the names of these colonial structures made of stone.<br></em><br></div>]]></description>
