         <description><![CDATA[<div>Select an issue and ask students to place themselves on a spectrum from "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree." Have them stand in a corresponding place in the classroom, make their arguments, and then move up or down the line as they are swayed.          <title>Gallery Walk</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Every student or group of students create a poster and they are displayed in a group setting. The teacher then develops questions about each poster and has students walk around and evaluate every poster until all of the questions are answered. This is supposed to work like an Art Gallery. After every group has completed their task the teacher can do a group debriefing. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Dueling Documents</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Select a topic or large issue. Divide the class into two halves. One half will be given Document A and the other Document B. This is used as way of jigsawing information for the class. Document A and Document B will have two different accounts of the same incident or event. After students have analyzed the documents the students will pair off with the other group and share ideas. The class will then come back together to debate which document is most accurate and why certain accounts are used over others. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Fishbowl</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gather about 5-7 desks arrange them in a small circle in the middle of the room. Have the rest of the desks around the inner circle (fishbowl). The outer&nbsp;desks are the observers. Allow 30-60 seconds for each of the inner circle students to share their opinion of a topic (which should be presented by instructor and etitten on the board). Towards the end of the discussion the outer circle highlights the inner circle thoughts and fills in what they missed. Everyone is responsible for material covered. </div>]]></description>
