The Flyknit Racer doesn't use rubber like the Waffle anymore, it uses yarn. You can also find the shoe online which was not in option for the Nike Waffle. However due to the extreme demand for flyknits they are not available long and usually sell out quickly. While the Nike Waffle was $20 back in its day the Flyknit Racer men's size typically go for $140. Nike's communication with the customers and the Waffle was tv and newspaper ads. Now the communication is done with internet ads and apps that tell you when a shoe will release.
