For me The American Dream is when you are happy with the state you are in. It might have to do with having nice cars, nice houses, and money. For most people it might be the right to and education but for others it's the right to be whatever they want to be. My understanding of The American Dream is to be able to have these things without being told they are not going to make it. It´s also being able to work your dream without much hassle. I also see it by supporting yourself and your family.

What does the American Dream mean to you? The American dream to me means being able to afford to buy a house, work at a high paying job with benefits. What is your American Dream? My American dream is to own a home and be able to send my future kids to college. Have your own hopes and dreams come true? Yes, my dreams are coming true. I have graduated with my masters and I am actively in the process of purchasing a home.Is the American Dream realistic to achieve? The American dream is not realistic for everyone. It can be achievable but not ideal. Some have the advantage of being Born into privilege that immediately sets them ahead of everyone else. When someone doesn't achieve their dream it can become exhausting and may make some people feel like a failure. Do you believe that the United States is still a “land of opportunity”?Currently with the state of the country, this country is no longer "the land of opportunity". It is a country of connections. You need to have connections in order to grow. But discrimination is real and not everyone has the connections to succeed. What is the one piece of advice you remember your parents trying to impress upon you? Did you take their advice? They told me to work hard now so i won't break my back later. They encouraged me to follow my dreams and I did. I love my job and what I do.

"The Rose That Grew From Concrete"By Tupac

Why i chose this poem was because of how the poet talked about a rose that never gave up on its dream. It states "Funny it seems but by keeping its dreams It learned 2 breathe fresh air". I like how it talks about this because its saying that the rose never gave up on its dream just like how some Americans never did as well. This supports my thesis because it grew from the crack of the concrete just like some Americas grew up with nothing and they ended up being successful. Just like how it states "proving nature's laws wrong it learned 2 walk without having feet". It talks about how the plant had no one or nothing to be able to rely on.

Dr. Ben Carson: 'The American Dream is Alive and Well'

In the video Dr. Ben Carson talks about the wealth gap in today's society. Also how most people come to the conclusion that their enemy is their neighbor. He also talks about how the American Dream is alive and well and how if you want to achieve it you have to put in the work and go for it. If most people want to achieve the american dream they have to spot buying into the stuff that other people are saying. He also states that " that many have achieved the Dream just by putting in the work. He also talks about how the wealth gap no longer exists because we have family's and education.

The character that I will be using to support my thesis is Reyna grande. I'm using her because she is the only one in her family to achieve her american dream. She was the first one to graduate college in her family. Then after she became a published writer and she found her american dream. I deiced to use her because no matter what she has been though she never gave up. She also found a way to keep going and never gave up. By the end of it she had finally achieved her american dream.
