The weather in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi is very different, even though both cities are well-known places in Vietnam. In specific, these two cities are different in terms of climate, season, clothing.

Ho Chi Minh City has a tropical climate, so it only has two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season usually lasts from December to April, and during this time the weather is hot, sunny, and quite humid. The rainy season lasts from May to November, and there are many short but heavy showers in the afternoon. Even though it rains a lot, the temperature stays warm almost every day. Because of this, people in Ho Chi Minh City can wear T-shirts and light clothes all year round.

Hanoi, however, has four clear seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Summer in Hanoi is very hot and humid, sometimes even hotter than Ho Chi Minh City. But in winter, the temperature can drop very low, and people need thick coats, scarves, and warm shoes. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons because the weather is cool, fresh, and pleasant. These two seasons make Hanoi feel very different from southern cities.

Although both cities receive a lot of rain in certain months, their climates are not the same. Ho Chi Minh City stays warm all year, while Hanoi changes between hot and cold.
