The long term objective of this wiki is to allow the students to use PMS products to help assist the student teams towards project completion by facilitating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling project activities.

1. The wiki must describe two PMS and compare at least one key functionality of each software.

2. Project is expected to start on the 3rd August and finish (including the completion of all deliverables and presentations) on the 16th October. Wiki should be running by 2nd October.

3. Comply with the $40,000 yearly usage fee expectation.

Net present value (NPV) for the project is positive which means it the school will save 1.1 million and help secure the future.

Return on investment (ROI) for the project will be to ensure that the school will be getting a return on what they have invested into the project.

Potential Risks involved in this project is going over budget, affecting both the NPV and the ROI, which could effectively lead to bankruptcy or extra funding for the project. This will bring project to halt and thus waste time and salaries causing a deficit to the SMCS.

Maintenance of equipment could vary as time go by, equipment may be to be replaced or new software and hardware maybe need to purchased causing set backs to the project. This could also mean cloud platform and tools became out dated.

The company hosting the cloud based software could run out of business thus failing R&D Students from completing there projects as well as cloud server not being 100% safe.

1 week is exploring MP and finding and alternative within the guidelines, this means completing Part 1 of the assignment. Also consulting a R&D student.

The product life of the wiki is as long as the wiki is relevant.

However a great solution to this problems mention above can be solved by switching to a web based pms system which  is universal to all platforms.Student with an internet connection can have access to files and programs on the go ,aswell the files created by the group in which the student is involved. Web based platforms tend to have unlimited user space.

1.Take no Action : This is a plausible option as student where able to make do during the past.However technology is constantly changing and old methods ,which students where once accustomed to may no longer help student to achieve the best they can.

Not only is it convenient and within out budget it meets the requirement and functionality provided by microsoft project, such initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing projects., executing. While this is good option it cannot keep up with the demand of student if there where more then 200 students enrolled in R&D per semester.

3.Our best option is to use Rational plan for $94 a month as it solves all issue from user ability, functionality, access of files and is well below the cost margin and budget we have obtained. $94 a month with unlimited storages space and access for 12 months + Internets fees =$11,124. This obviously our best choice.
