Why are we worried about this new leader? The president-elect is a far-right politic who defends dictatorship and torture, doesn't protect indigenous people or women, doesn't believe in climate change, is homophobic and believes that the best way to "fix" the country is to have a civil war. Why does this matter? Brazil is the largest nation of South America and holds a major part of the Amazon rainforest which gives the country major political and environmental relevance. But recently a private media company did an article about how he hasn't included any woman on his transition team and how women are underrepresented on Brazil's government, exposing more of his misogyny. It shouldn't be a surprise, given he has made hateful attacks against minorities and women, said that his only daughter was born because of his wife’s “weakness” and that people should stop whining about feminicide because "it is not a thing".
