         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nutrient Pollution is the process in which too many nutrients are added to bodies of water The nutrients can act like a fertilizer and cause excessive growth of algae and other aquatic vegetation. The main nutrients are nitrogen and phosphorus.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Algae</strong>- A simple, non-flowering aquatic plant that flourishes in water with excess nitrogen and phosphorus<br><strong>Algal Bloom</strong>- A sudden rapid increase of the population of algae in a body of fresh water.<br><strong>Ecosystem</strong>- A biological community of organisms interacting with their physical environment.<br><strong>Eutrophication-</strong> Excessive richness of nutrients in a body of water.<br><strong>Nitrogen</strong>- The most abundant element in the atmosphere, key contributor to nutrient pollution.<br><strong>Phosphorus</strong>- A poisonous, non-combustible element, a key contributor to nutrient pollution.<br><strong>Soil Erosion</strong>- The wearing away of topsoil by the natural physical forces of water.<br><strong>Runoff-</strong>the draining away of water from the surface of an area.<br><strong>Agricultural-</strong>the practice or science of farming<br><strong>Ammonia</strong>-It dissolves in water to give a strongly alkaline solution.<br>Phosphorus-A common constituent of agricultural fertilizers, manure, and organic wastes in sewage and industrial effluent. It is essential element for plant life but too much can be harmful.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Agriculture</strong>- Soil erosion caused by the clearing of land and an increase in the use of fertilizer makes agriculture a huge source for nutrient pollution<br><strong>Storm Water and Waste Wate</strong>r- Precipitation runoff drags excess nutrients with it when it return back into a body of water and sewage systems leaking and large sewage cleaning plants don't always regulate the water they send back out into streams which can allow extra nutrients to get into water supplies as well<br><strong>At Home</strong>- Certain home detergents, cleaning items, and other chemicals can add to nutrient pollution when they are not disposed of properly. The figure below shows a few home items that can potentially be harmful to the environment</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>&nbsp;Nitrate in drinking water-</strong>The maximum amount of nitrate in drinking water, is 10 mg/L (as nitrogen)<br><strong>phosphorus levels</strong>-(Into streams that do not discharge directly into lakes or ponds)&nbsp; should not exceed 0.1 mg/L<br><strong>phosphorus levels-</strong>(In a stream at a point where it enters a lake or pond) should not exceed 0.05 mg/L<br><strong>Ammonia levels-</strong> (In most natural surface waters) no greater than about 2 mg/L<br><strong>Ammonia levels-</strong>(Inalkaline water at high temperature)&nbsp; total ammonia concentrations has to be less than 0.1 mg/L<br><br>The link&nbsp;below shows different effects of nitrogen pollution in a place close to home</div>]]></description>
