This is done to explain and show you Roman gods and what they are and do, we made this to educate others about all these interesting Greek gods.

How the catapults work is by the string, the string holds the spoon force from reacting and then when you release the force the spoon launches the object.

Our project is a motorized modern take on an ancient Roman catapult. We researched the original models of the catapult reaching the katapletikon which was the first catapult ever, made in Greece. And the ballista, an early Roman catapult. In the end we settled for the onager which used rotational force to launch things. Onager means kicking donkey in Latin, it was called that because the catapult would kick back like a donkey. Using motors and rubber bands we were able to control the force used to launch an object, much like the romans. We learned that catapults launched a variety of projectiles, such as rocks, fireballs, clay pots with oil, and even diseased corpses. Each projectile served its own strategic purpose, whether it was to break wall using rocks, or spreading destruction like the fireballs and the pots with oil, and the corpses would spread diseases to the opposing army. In conclusion catapults are incredible war weapons that changed the course of wars, launching a variety of projectiles depending on the situation. We did a modern version of the Roman catapult the onager, which uses torsional force to launch things.

This project compares the ancient and modern worlds. The group researched areas like housing, food, clothing, transportation, technology, and warfare. The left panel represents the ancient world, with things like mud-brick homes, handmade garments, and basic tools. The right panel showcases the modern world,shows advanced technology, mass-produced clothing, and globalized food sources, And the pictures show weapons, homes and education

A challenge faced was probably organizing all the info and pictures clearly

• Sight: Modern life is shaped by advanced technology, health awareness, and social media, while ancient life lacked modern visuals, relying on natural light and immediate surroundings.

• Hearing: Modern sounds include media and technology, whereas ancient people mainly heard nature and human voices.

• Smell: Modern smells are influenced by urban life and artificial scents, while ancient smells were natural, like herbs and spices.

• Day: Modern days are defined by a mix of work, social interactions, and diverse routines, while ancient days were guided by natural light and simple tasks.

• Taste: Modern taste reflects globalization and cultural exchange, whereas ancient taste depended on local and seasonal availability.

• Weekly Routine: Modern weeks blend work, technology, and personal life, while ancient weeks followed natural and religious cycles.

• Year: Modern years follow the Gregorian calendar, shaped by globalization and technology, while ancient years were guided by natural patterns and religious observances.

• Community Influence: Modern life involves diverse, fast-paced interactions, while ancient communities were close-knit and guided by spiritual practices.

• Social Structures: Modern life reflects individualism and technological influence, while ancient life was centered around collective survival and spiritual guidance.

Finding the information was a challenge faced during the process

An interesting fact that we learned from this project is that the Romans adopted many Greek gods but gave them different traits. For example, Jupiter is based on Zeus, but he's also seen as the protector of Roman law and justice.

In this project we researched about some of the most important emperors in Rome such as Nero, Augustus, Hadrian, Diocletian, Trajan, Commodus, and Constantine. Doing our timeline we drew boxes and added pictures and information about each event that happened for each emperor. A challenge we faced was being able to gather all the information together to put it in the boxes and turn it in on time.

Ancient architecture were much more detailed than they are today and used natural resources like rocks sand and bricks. Modern architecture is much more simple and includes a lot of technology.

Fashion

Roman fashion was simple and elegant. Wealthy citizens had clothes made of silk while poor citizens had them made of wool or linen. They also had shoes made of leather and wood. Modern clothes is made from polyester or cotton and the styles vary quite a lot.

Transportation

Ancient tome used chariots litter carriages or horse drawn carriages but most people walked to their destination. While in modern times barley anyone walks, while its still common people prefer cars planes boats or bikes.

Government

Their government is not so different from ours today they created many things that we use. Some of these things include republican structure, separation of powers, representative government, the senate, and legislative bodies.

We made a project about the Roman Gods and important traits they had. We had to print the format of the trading cards then we laminate the cards. We also made trading cards of important traits of Ancient Rome. We then had to study the cards to share the information we learned to the class. We learned a lot of new things in this project and leaned the importance of these Roman Gods, and the important traits of Ancient Rome.

One fun fact is that Juno is the goddess’s marriage, child birth and women. Another fun fact is that Roman’s and the Greeks share many gods and goddesses.

Our catapult is based on the way that roman’s constructed the catapult’s. Also this catapult not only attacks it also defends it self with the spikes that are in the wheels so people could not destroy it.

resources than the Romans, they only used it to decorate fountains or areas of value and the designs would be far simpler than the Romans.

That's because mosaics were found nearly everywhere, they had more materials to use so the designs were very intricate and it was also used for more practical things like "Cave Canem" or "beware of dog".

Something that they both have in common however is the tesserae, it was used as a nod to its origins in Mesopotamia because the material was often used in nearly everything and was often characterized by its blue pigment. While making this project we encountered some difficulties like gluing the paper on, and recreating it perfectly, but in the end we created a close match to what we were trying to create.

This project was a good way to learn about how the gods acted and how their actions affected humans. Me and Jasmine both worked together to fill and print out the cards and we finished the work right on time. We worked together to find out what made all these gods unique and powerful. We are glad we chose this project because we got to learn about Roman gods and learn more about Greek culture!
