Alhassan Sesay is a youth mobilizer, organizer and inspirator, born and raised in rural Sierra Leone. He is the Founder and President of The Sierra Leone School Green Club (SLSGC), an environmental and agricultural organization that mainly works with schools and communities. SLSGC recently won a grant to start the project “Plastic Won’t Reach the Beach”. SLSGC has established 10 environmental school clubs in the Western Rural District of Sierra Leone and organized many climate change mitigation initiatives together with teachers and students of these schools. Students will soon start a virtual exchange with their peers in the Netherlands to discuss opportunities for a circular economy in Africa and Europe. He has been part of many international exchanges and volunteering programs, such as the Young African Leaders Initiative Fellowship Ghana, Africa Change Makers Fellowship 2018, and Focal Point for Citizen Climate Lobby (CCL-Africa). He won the GYCN Climate-Smart Entrepreneurship Contest 2018 as honorary member and the First Young African Leaders Awards 2019. I’m Carissa, I’m a 19 year old born and raised in Peru. Growing up in Lima is an eye-opening experience, we know the reality that tourists are not shown when visiting and its a harsh and heartbreaking reality. A culture that does not respect our own environment and communities. As a response to the insecurity that many citizens feel when walking down the streets of Lima, I created an app called “Ambar” that allows its users to have a better and faster connection with the authorities of their district in order to have a faster response from them whenever they find themselves in danger. My app promotes a better connection between members of a community as well as decreasing social insecurity, it was selected as the winner for a national native app design contest and as someone that has to walk down the dangerous Lima streets, I’m proud of it.

I am also an advocate for ocean cleaning and protection, I spend my free time surfing and cleaning the beaches nearby, I love my country and will do anything to see it grow and protect our societies and environment. This January, YouthLead, a network for young global leaders, celebrated the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 through the “#Reaching 16” campaign, I was the only Peruvian selected as the winner for an international essay contest regarding our experience with bringing SDG 16 to our communities. My essay was published in the YouthLead newsletter as well as through all their social media platforms.

Near my place, small rivers flow towards the Atlantic Ocean (80 km), carrying a considerable quantity of residues discharged by an unresponsible part of the population. The coastal zone is covered by remaining rainforest fragments of the biome called Mata Atlantica. In several locations the beaches still preserve mangrove and reef ecosystems, however, progress occupies incessantly more and more space. My body is getting old, but my mind tries to keep young and active for people and nature.

Hi All: I'm 15 years old from Miami, Florida. My home and my school sit on the edge of Biscayne Bay, and both are expected to be uninhabitable due to sea level rise by the year 2070. I love the ocean. My hobbies, rowing crew and free diving, are already affected by climate change. My city, once known as the "Magic City," is now regularly dubbed by the press as a frontline community and "ground zero for sea level rise." Out of necessity, I founded We Are Forces of Nature, a youth organization aiming to halt climate change, with a particular focus on climate education and ocean health. I work to raise the voice of my neighbors in the Bahamas and Central America, areas least responsible for causing climate change but most affected by it. I am a relentless optimist and happy to be part of the Oceans working group.
History has its eyes on us. It's go time.

Felix Marwuko is my name. I am a farmer, climate change and climate Justice advocate, Agent of change and founder of Quick Connect Farms and also a teacher. I'm a product of University of Education Winneba and a Health and Safety Officer with NEBOSH. As a teacher, my duty and responsibility is to ensure that the students get better understanding in education and training. The health and safety of my students is my major concern in facilitating the development process to enable their training at all times. A careful and closer look at the activities of Quick Connect Farms shows that youth unemployment is gradually reduced in the catchment area. Hi everyone, I'm Ahmed originally from Somalia. Currently, I'm doing master's in Animal science and marketing in Uganda. Although, I'm from land conflict nation I feel very connected to the seas and oceans. Hence, I've been involved in ocean related activities ever since I finished my Bachelor degree a few years ago. I'm an expert of Ichthyology now. I've worked with a few organizations in the Somalia regions already. I joined YOUNGO platform now as recommended by a colleague who is a focal point of a group.
