Hitler demanded Sudetenland, a region of western Czechoslovakia (it's now in modern day Czechia/Czech Republic), because of its ethnic German population. The leaders agreed to give him Sudetenland under the condition than he wouldn't occupy any more territory is Czechoslovakia. This was called the Munich Agreement.

Hitler violated this agreement less than a year after it was made and seized the rest of Czechoslovakia, so that's what you get for trusting Hitler to keep a promise.

But there was a secret section-one detailing how the Soviets and Germans planned on diving Eastern Europe. Poland was there first target.

So this mark represents Germany invading Poland along this border. Some weeks later, the Soviet Union came into Poland and took their share.
