Context and explanation:

It is Bella's birthday, she is at the Cullens house and gets a paper cut while she is opening her present. Since Jasper (Edwards brother) is new to the diet he goes up to attack her because of her blood. Edward pushes Bella to the wall where the glass shatters into pieces. The family leaves one by one because the scent of her blood is too strong. The only one that stays is Carlisle to help stitch her arm back up.

Analysis of the quote:
Bella goes to the Cullens house for her birthday even though she doesn't like to celebrate it. When she goes she starts opening her gifts, that's when she gets a paper cut "shoot" she says. The smell of her blood makes Jasper thirst which is why she gets knocked to the wall.

Analysis of the quote:
Bella remembers what Carlisle said about her soul and thinks that, that is the reason he has to leave. She tells him that she doesn't care if it's her soul he is worried about. She wants to let him know that he already has her soul and if he leaves she doesn't want it.

It is Bella's birthday and Alice happily greets her at school. Bella does not want to celebrate her birthday because this means that she is getting older. Alice tells her that she should be happy because it is the one day that everyone does as you say. She wants Bella to enjoy her birthday and think about the brightness of her day.
Analysis of the quote:
Alice is trying to cheer up Bella because it is her birthday. "Everyone is supposed to be nice to you today and give you your way, Bella." This is showing us how she is motivating Bella to be happy and telling her that everyone is there and happy for her. Alice is happy in the first sentence. This is because she wants to throw a party for Bella. When Bella tells her that she won't enjoy it she says, "Of course you'll enjoy it."

Analysis of the quote:
Edward talks to Bella about him leaving. He tells her that he will always love her but what happened when she cut her arm was not forgivable. It let him know that it was time for a change. He tells her how he is tired of pretending to be something he isn't because he isn't human. Even though he is very sad when he is saying this he doesn't have another option because he is trying to protect her.

Bella forgot the way to Jacobs house so as she is in the car she calls her dad so that she can know the way to his house. She tells him how she hasn't seen Jacob in months and wants to visit him. Bella is going to be in her way to see Jacob so that he could fix the motorcycles and so that they can catch up with each other.

The hikers were fighting with each other on what the animal looked like and how big it was. They were worried for the people that lived in forks to stay safe.
Analysis of the quote:
As one of the hikers talks about the animal he describes the animal that it is as big as a house. He also talks about how the fur is pitch black. The hiker tells the other one that they should report this animal to the ranger so that the people living in the town are safe. The guy says how the animal was only a few miles from the trail-head.

Bella went to see the movies with Jessica. When the movie is done they leave and are going somewhere to eat. Bella notices a guy she thinks she might have seen (in twilight book 1). She gets closer to him even though Jessica tells her not to. She is getting closer because she can hear Edwards voice since she has an adrenaline rush.
Analysis of the quote
Bella has a feeling that if she keeps on getting adrenaline rushes then Edwards voice will keep coming back to her. This is why she walks up to the men and starts to get closer. It brings back memories from last year when she was there and the men were following her. The reason why she says "I just want to see something" is because she wants to see if Edwards voice will come back again and if this is the only time that it will come back.

After Edward left Bella got depressed and her dad finally snapped because she was being too quiet and sad all the time. Her dad tells her that he has gone through the same thing. But he is scared because the way she is handling it is not right. He wants her to go back to normal and that if she doesn't she will be sent to special care or back to her mother.
Analysis of the quote:
In the morning while Bella is having breakfast her dad gets very mad because she is not okay. He knows that there are better ways of handling what she is going through but the way she is doing it is not right. She isn't happy and she isn't mopping either. He tells her that he feels like she is lifeless. He wants her to change because she isn't doing anything wrong or socializing.

Bella and Jacob went motorcycling, the first time she went up to drive the motorcycle she fell. So the second time she tried to kick start the bike on her own. After she got it to start the voice in her head told her to stop which was a better reason to continue. When she went to drive the motorcycle she was going too fast and tried to stop. She forgot where the brake was and hit the pedal under her right foot. This made her go flying and she hit her head and started bleeding. But she didn't realize this until Jacob got to her, she was more worried about leaving the bikes then going to the hospital.
Analysis of the quote
In the quote she is driving the motorcycle. She speeds up but then starts to go too fast. After this happens she is about to crash so she has quick instincts and forgets where the break was and hits the pedal under her right foot. This causes her to go flying and hit her head. Jacob rushes to her to look if she is okay. Even though she says she is fine her head is bleeding which is why he says that they are done and wants to take her to the hospital. But she wants him to grab the motorcycles. Before he grabs them he gives her his shirt and tells her to put it on her head and to go to the car.

Analysis of the quote
Since Bella has the stomach flu she can't go to work. This is why when Charlie comes to ask her if there is anything she needs help with she asks him to call for a sick day at work. She works at the Newtons store which is Mikes store so she tells Charlie to call and tell them that she got what Mike had which is why she wouldn't be able to make it.

Since Jacob has been getting looks from Sam he is afraid that he might be next.
Analysis of the quote
This quote talks about how Jacob and Quil are afraid of what might happen. He also says how Embry was missing school for a week and wasn't home. But before that he told her about how Sam looks at him differently and that he doesn't know why. Embry doesn't talk to them anymore after he was absent for a week.

Bella sits on the motorcycle, remembers where all of the gears are and asks Jacob to kick start it. After she hears his voice she is more eager to ride the motorcycle which is why she speeds up.

He had always said that Sam looked at him differently and how he didn't like him. That's why she is shocked that he is always with Sam now. Analysis of the quote
In this quote Jacob comes into Bella's room and starts to explain himself even though he can't. He keeps apologizing and trying to modify his answer as to what happened to him. But he says there is no way he could tell her. So he reminds her of the day at the beach (from book 1) and asks her to remember the legends that they were talking about on that day.

Analysis of the quote
He says that he is going to stay safe but that he has to go and kill the wolves. He is killing the wolves because he thinks that they are killing all of the people. Bella doesn't want him to go knowing that Victoria is out there killing the people.She wants him to stay which is why she isn't going to go to La Push. Charlie says he will stay safe but that he has to go and try to save the people.
