Caves as portals, openings into another world.  Werner Herzog made that film 'Cave of Forgotton Dreams' about the cave paintings discovered 30,000 years after they had been painted when an opening was discovered after an earthquake i think. I love the idea that the paintings of horses, lions etc. are preserved dreams of the people who painted them..

She used the whole space as a kind of experimentation ground, with all these seperate elements coming together in the installation, she had a long installation time. i remember the materiality and texture of everything was v striking.. especially this cage, hair, gold structure thing.. The vibe is sort of melted petrocultures in a dreamlike realm of clouds and eco-strangeness - think floating ribcages, albatrosses, mysterious birds and salt crystals. There was also a pool of water that reminded me of the inky pool in Under the Skin, or like the entrance to the Black Lodge. There were objects, kind of 'used' machine-like parts suspended on wire and a kind of furnace with salt crystals and then a projected screen showing a solar peach setting and rising into the sea.
