The camp had a big impact on me, and if you ask anyone from my old school about it, they'll tell you that I probably didn't stop talking about Forest Home until this summer, a whole year later. This song represents this day for me because one of the parents made a video of us to this song. We were a very small grade, having 28 people, and therefore we were all really close. I got to see my teachers outside of school and connect with them. I also become a lot closer with the other 6 students that went. One of the teachers had been my spanish teacher for the past four years, and that year in spanish class we learned this song, and it reminds me so much of Costa Rica because it reminds me of her, and in Costa Rica, "pura vida" is a very common phrase that we said the whole time we were there. This song reminds me of the whole experience we had on this trip of getting to see how people and wildlife live there in what seemed like a whole different world.

We call this one Winter Camp. I went in February of this year. It was another life changing experience, and was also so much fun. But, it was also very different than Forest Home, a big difference being the contrast of summer and heat, to winter and snow!! Soon after, we had a sleepover with a couple of other girls as a way to try and support her in this tough time of the loss of her mom and other things that were going on in her life. We all started talking and came to talking about very personal and emotional things going on in our lives and really built a strong trust in our friendship. Doing this made us all very emotional, and in the end I remember we watched a ton of episodes of Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse to lighten the mood and bring our memories back to the happy times of when we watched this together when we were little.
