Lot's of Americans were upset of this, they believed it was wrong to help people who have broken the law, by entering the country undocumented. Other Americans say Obama abused his power. Because he passed the act without Congress's approval. And that it was unconstitutionally for him to do that. People also say that he implemented DACA in 2012, when he was coming back for re-election. Some qualification to apply, for DACA. Are having to be enrolled in high school, GED, or HI-SET programs. Or who have had completed high school. They can't have a criminal record, or committed any serious offense. And have had to arrival in the United States before turning 16 years old. 
To be able to obtain a work permit and have temporary protection from deportation. It helps undocumented immigration to find a jobs and work legally. And this program also helps them to buy and own property. DREAMERS are giving a social security number to work and pay taxes under. Dreamers like my mom and aunties were brought to the United States by their parents. When they where old only 6,7 years old. They went to school here, and grew up in the U.S. They do not know anything but the U.S.
They didn't know they were undocumented until they applied for jobs. They speak, read, and write perfect fluent English. If they were ever to get deported they wouldn't have anyone or anywhere to go in Mexico. In the Dreamers perspective it's a great thing to have. Because they can work legally in the United States. Which means they can apply anywhere and work anywhere; and not always being worried on getting caught working using fake papers. Also this program protects the Dreamers in not getting  deported for two years. So they can travel anywhere in the U.S without a problem. They are giving a Social Security number, so they can build credit. And pay taxes. 

Americans against:
Americans believe that people who crossed the border undocumented, shouldn't be helped because they broke the law. They also believe that Obama only did this because of his upcoming election. Americans were outrage that he passed DACA because he went over Congress.

Back in 2017 Trump wanted to end DACA. He frozzed the the program. Where no new applicants could apply. And if your permit expires you couldn't of renew it again.
