They thought it was nothing so they continued doing what they were doing. Then it happened again, they started to get a little worried and then the boy goes outside and the streets are flooding with water. The aqueducts had been broken and the water was from the ocean was flowing into their town. The cars in the streets were now floating around in the water and his dog is gone. The water gets in the house and they have to get upstairs, slowly the water gets up in the stairs. They run into the attic and his dad grabs an ax and chops a hole in the roof where they can all climb out. Everyone in the house climbs up on the roof and stays there. The wind is so strong the boy gets knocked right off the house. He sees a tree but then realizes it isn't a tree its his dog! He's still alive and he needs to stay alive with the dog so they grab onto an actual tree. Big Nate is a series book about how one kid gets in trouble almost every day. He also goes to detention a lot. Nate has trouble with girls and he gets terrible grades on his homework and test.  One day, he made a bet with a girl named Gina. He hates Gina because she gets good grades and brags about it. Nate's and Gina's bet is that Gina bets Nate that he can't go one week without getting into detention once. If Nate wins, Gina has to give him five dollars but if Gina wins, Nate has to be her servant for one whole  day. While the week was passing by, Nate forgot his homework. Gina said that he would get into detention because he forgot his homework at home. Nate actually didn't get into detention. He told his teacher the truth and he didn't get into detention. On the last day of the bet, Nate went out to get some water. The water fountain wouldn't work so his teacher, Mrs. Godfrey came to look at the water fountain and all of a sudden, water sprayed all over her. Gina came over and yelled, "I knew it! I knew you would screw up! I win the bet cause you're about to get detention!" Mrs. Godfrey came over and asked what the bet was all about. Gina told her what the bet was about and then Mrs.Godfrey said that she was disappointed in Gina because Gina was her best student. Nate went home and had the best day ever because he sprayed water all over his teacher and he didn't get in trouble for it.

Gina is always laughing at Nate because he always gets in trouble so Nate told the art teacher that Gina did that. Gina got in trouble for once and Nate was laughing and Gina was really mad. In the book "Chasing The Falconers" there are two kids at a place called Sunnydale (a juvenile detention center). Aiden and Meg were in Sunnydale because they need someone to look after them. The reason they are there is because of there parents (they are in jail). There parents are innocent though. The court decided to send Aiden and meg there. Aiden and Meg escaped to free there parents.
