The cultivation of coffee has spread from Africa, where it first appeared, to the East and the West to create the so-called Bean Belt.
While Brazil dominates the industry in terms of volume (almost 3 million metric tons), coffee-growing regions can be found all over the world in subtropical and equatorial climates. In truth, Vietnam, the world's second-largest exporter of coffee, revived coffee cultivation in the middle of the 1980s.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, there are approximately 34,131 minors working as farm workers in Vietnam. In Brazil, about 5,000 minors are found working on coffee fields, frequently without compensation or safety gear, according to the same research. Children are susceptible to forced labor and human trafficking in Côte d'Ivoire. From   nations like Mali, Togo, and Burkina Faso, children are forcibly brought to coffee plantations and recruited to work for little to no compensation, frequently for three to four years until they can return home. Many are denied food and sick leave, and they are prevented from leaving the fields by threats of violence and withheld compensation.

They cannot leave plantations and are often abused and ignored. They cannot get any education at all inside their farms and as said in the last issue, they cannot go home until after 4 ~ 5 years. They will miss out on a big chunk of their education, and most childrens stay on the farms for even longer.

Because this is where our work is most required, we have decided to operate in industries and areas where there is a known risk of child labor.
The Fairtrade Standards' specific requirements include:
- Fair Trade groups are not allowed to hire anyone under the age of 15.
- Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to work in jobs that could endanger their education or development.
- Children may only assist if the task is age-appropriate, completed after school hours, or during a holiday.
- The inclusion of a mitigation and elimination plan in an organization's Fairtrade Development Plan is encouraged.

This is also related to Quality Education. If parents have good salary then they can send their child to school. Coffee is also really expensive to grow and and so it costs a lot. So they can enough money to pay their expenses and grow more coffee while being able to send their kid to school.
