On the weekend, Greg was home alone. He thought that he was able to sit on the couch and watch TV until his parents got home, but no. When Greg went downstairs, he noticed that the TV remote was a lot lighter. When he checked the batteries, they were gone. But there was a little note inside that said "Greg, I didn't want you to watch TV the whole time I was gone, so I set you up with some chores to do. First, put the dishes in the dishwasher, and then it will lead you to your next chore. If you do not finish all the chores by the time I am back...". Greg knew that by his mom saying "...," if he didn't do his chores in time, he would be grounded for life! So Greg noticed needed six batteries, so he knew that getting the six batteries from each chore would take his the whole day. So when he went to the dishwasher and put the dishes away, he noticed that on the front of the dishwasher, there was a battery taped on to it. Then he remembered that his mom and dad's TV remote for the TV only needed one battery, so he went upstairs in his mom and dad's and watched TV. Six hours later, his neck started cramping up, so he changed positions. But when he looked at the clock, he noticed that it was already 3 o'clock, so his mom was going to get home in an hour! So he jumped out of their bed and started doing his chores. It turned out that the chores that his mom gave him were really easy, and he was on the last chore already, but he noticed that the last chore is the hardest, which is plowing the driveway. He looked at the clock again and he saw that his mom would get home in less than ten minutes, so he needed to act fast. An Icewing comes up to her claiming that it is his. Then one of the outlaws named Qibli comes over to help. She says that the scavenger belongs to the Icewing whose name is Winter. He says that the scavenger has not been feeling well and moon says that all he needs is food because he is hungry. They gave it food and Moon was right because the scavenger ate it. Moon goes to the library to teach Kinkajou how to read. Second she gets told by Carnelian that she talks during the night. Then she decides to go to the history cave. When she gets there she starts to get all these visions that there was going to be an explosion in the history room. She tries to warn her fellow students not to go in there but Carnelian goes in. A few seconds later there is an explosion in the history room just like Moon's visions. She finds out that Tamarin and Bigtail also were in the room when the explosion happened. Some of the dragons take Tamarin to a lake so she can get her burns healed. When that happens Winter takes Moon to a hallway to question her on how she knew that there was going to be an explosion. Winter leaves and tells her that he needs answers by tomorrow at midnight or else he will tell the whole school that she caused the explosion. Then she gets the same question from her friends. She tells them the truth that she can read their mind and that she gets visions. They leave and the only one who is there is Turtle. He takes her to a lake inside of the caves and it helps heal a wound that Moon got from the explosion. They got there but she made it there first. Then Winter who is Icicle's brother comes into the room. Sunny goes back to the ruins of the scavenger place. There she finds two scavengers and tells one of them to go get the treasure that they stole from the Sandwings. They bring it back but the Eye of Onyx is not there. She goes back to the Rainforest and makes a plan to stop the war with her friends. The plan is to get the three Sandwing sisters to Burn's stronghold. It took a while but they were able to get all the sisters to the stronghold. Burn gets a present from Blister which Burn knows that it is a trick with a Dragonbite Viper in it. She grabs it but she did not know that there were 2 of them and she gets bit by the second one. Burn dies and the other two sisters start to fight so now Blaze has almost no chance to be queen and probably will die. Then Flower finds the Eye of Onyx inside of Queen Oaisis's mouth. Sunny thinks about if she wants to be queen but decides that her mother Thorn should be the queen. Blister takes it from Thorn but somehow turns into ash. Wilbur can't help that Charlotte is dying but he can bring home her eggs sac and watch over it until the baby spiders hatch. So he tells Templeton the rat to get the sac for him since he can't reach it but Templeton refuses. He ends up giving in after Wilbur promises him that he can have the first bite of his food everyday. Once he gets the sac he says goodbye and goes back to the farm. A couple days passed and Charlotte died. Wilbur is still taking care of the egg sac. Winter passes and then the spiders start hatching. When they find out they find out that the dragon is a Nightwing named Foeslayer who all the Icewings think is the dragon who took their last Animus. They find that to be all wrong and that she only had fallen in love with Prince Arctic and had never meant to hurt any tribe. Peril and Turtle meet the Talons of Peace where they learn that they are also trying to find and kill Scarlet. 2 days go by and Turtle has very low stamina so, they had to take a break very often. Turtle thinks that someone is following them and after their next stop they find that to be true but, all that the dragon is doing is staring at them. They reach a place called Possibility to find the rest of Jade Winglet. They take the river to get there and they get out by a few Sandwings to check if one of them is Qibli. Then a cactus ball comes to Peril and she doesn't know what it is. It exploded and many dragons including Peril got hurt. Fortunately Peril's scales burned the cactus balls off.
