The similarities between "The Lottery," and "The Hunger Games," is that both movies/books have some kind of ritual. They both have a ritual where someone draws a name out of a box/bowl and that person fights for their life. In "The Hunger Games" the person in charge of their town draws a name out of a bowl to see who fights for their life in the actual hunger games.
