I think some people on staff feel like this when you tell us to calm down or that we are crazy for being worried. I myself am excited for next year, but I know that I don't like being told that my concerns aren't valid or that I am silly for worrying about big changes.

One of my favorite comments from an author is along the lines of, "when we think we have gone straight from 'zero-60', we were already idling at 59." I think, as teachers, we are often at 59 already, and even though we might agree that all the pd we receive, and upcoming changes, like pbl and block scheduling are positive, it can FEEL like one-more-thing-being-added to an already beyond full day. I think there might be less stress involved if there was a verbal recognition that this is something that, although in the long term will be an improvement, that in the short term, because it is NEW, IS an addition to an already very, very full day.

Along with the MANY changes (which of course we can handle) next year, we also don't have enough space to accommodate all of the new teachers and support staff. We will have to give up our rooms and offices during prep making it that much more difficult to work. Maybe we need a portable?

Hard to get on board when we know that there's no real plan and that the higher ups are making it up as they go.

I am worried about the 85 minute block and keeping students engaged. I wish it were a bit shorter, even 75 minutes would be better.
