Effleurage introduces the client to therpists touch, links massage movements, relaxes muscles, warms and relaxes tissues, aids lymphatic drainage, assists blood flow, soothes nerve endings. 
Petrissage relieves tension nodules, improves muscle tone, increases production of sebum and sweat, assists removal of waste products, stimulates cell regeneration.
