Rise 2575 BC

It lasted from 2575 BC to 2150 BC. Over these 400 years, Egypt had a strong central government and a prosperous economy. The Old Kingdom is most famous as a time when many pyramids were built. All this changed with the rise of the Old Kingdom, which was a 500-year-long period of prosperity and stability in Ancient Egypt. It was made possible by the unification of these cities under just one king. Achieving Political Stability in Ancient Egypt Despite its name, the Old Kingdom wasn’t ruled by just one king.

JOSE DANIEL VALARESO

https://worldhistory.us/ancient-history/ancient-egypt/the-history-of-the-old-kingdom.php
https://mx.images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=AwrJ3s_7X8Ng7VoAqljF8Qt.;_ylu=c2VjA3NyBHNsawNpbWcEb2lkA2UzNTA3OTQyNWZhMTdmNTM1MTkwYmQ0NGI3MTIzZTc2BGdwb3MDMgRpdANiaW5n?back=https%3A%2F%2Fmx.images.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Drise%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bold%2Bkingdom%2Bof%2Bancients%2Begyptian%26fr%3Dmcafee%26fr2%3Dp%253As%252Cv%253Av%252Cm%253Apivot%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D2&w=640&h=444&imgurl=s3.amazonaws.com%2Fs3.timetoast.com%2Fpublic%2Fuploads%2Fphotos%2F9221563%2F0da52289d0d097e17107667470afd520.jpg%3F1479984315&rurl=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.timetoast.com%2Ftimelines%2Fancient-egypt-new-kingdom-81a56e0c-09db-404f-a269-d8db3d9f2d87&size=73.8KB&p=rise+of+the+old+kingdom+of+ancient+egyptian&oid=e35079425fa17f535190bd44b7123e76&fr2=p%3As%2Cv%3Av%2Cm%3Apivot&fr=mcafee&rw=rise+of+the+old+kingdom+of+ancient+egyptian&tt=ANCIENT+EGYPT+%28NEW+KINGDOM%29+timeline+%7C+Timetoast+timelines&b=0&ni=21&no=2&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=KD8emB51XGGg&sigb=1pkbyZ0y6f41&sigi=RqSaIz3uFI3b&sigt=Y7qnjUZJthz6&.crumb=LiY0TIoKB0S&fr=mcafee&fr2=p%3As%2Cv%3Av%2Cm%3Apivot

The Old Kingdom period is most famous for building pyramids. This includes the first pyramid, the Pyramid of Djoser, and the largest pyramid, the Great Pyramid at Giza.

Read more at: Ancient Egypt for Kids: Old Kingdom

Ancient Egypt for Kids: Old Kingdom.

DESCRIPTION
The First Intermediate Period is called the time that goes from the end of the 6th Dynasty to the reunification of Egypt by Mentuhotep II, Historically speaking it supposes the collapse of the political scheme of the Old Kingdom, the rise to power of the nomarchs, the appearance of a kingdom in the north with capital in Heracleópolis and another in the south around Thebes, and finally, the reunification of the country by the Thebans. Culturally, there was a very important change, both in mentality and in its literary expression, as well as in religion and possibly in society.

This period was characterized by feudalism or independence of the nomes, where the nomarchs gathered local troops and there were High Priests of the gods who also administered their goods. Another characteristic of this period was Confucianism, during which a prince from Heracleópolis took his residence to the theoretical capital of the Country.

citations:
Mark, J., & Mark, J.

Decline of the 1st intermediate period

The decline of the Old Kingdom is often said to have been caused by the long reign of Pepi II, during which the king supposedly lost more and more power to the central administration and the provincial governors. Perhaps the long reign of the king, which had started in his childhood and ended when he was at least well into his nineties, may indeed have allowed the central administration to become more powerful.
Kinnaer, J.
