Hello! My name is Aashi! 5th grade is unbelievable. It is so much fun! The school is big, yes. But, in 1 or 2 weeks, you will get use to everything! I know this is long, but this information will be helpful! Let me tell you a few things about this amazing school. ARIS is an amazing school, and one reason is all of the clubs. In the beginning of the year, you have the option to choose clubs! There are a number of clubs to choose. Sewing, drama, sports! You name it. One of those clubs is student council, which I am in. You will hear all about student council later. I shouldn't give you much spoilers about clubs now! Another amazing thing about ARIS is.....LOCKERS!!! Lockers are basically the best thing about ARIS. (At least I think so ;)) Lockers might be tricky at first, but eventually, everyone gets used to it. Don't worry, it's nothing to fret about. You get to customize your locker with anything you want! Just not the outside. Moving on, the cafetaria!!!! It has the best food I've tasted in schools! There is also chef special, where there is food like restaurants. Ice cream, snacks, and best food in schools are all in the cafeteria. Lastly, student council! Student council is a very fun thing to participate in. But it is kind of serious too. In order to do it, you have to fill out a form. Then, you have to write a speech, and based on that, you class will vote. If your student council, you get to do school store, 4th grade tours, and help set up the carnival. I gave you some basic information about ARIS, but you will learn more when you get here. ARIS is a very fun school, and you will definitely love it!

Today, we will be giving you a few tips for your first week as fifth graders. ARIS is a little different from elementary school, but I am sure that you will love ARIS.
During the open house if you realize you are having trouble opening your locker, it would be smart to practice your locker combination at home.
Something to look forward to at ARIS is... lockers! Lockers do take a little time to get used too. I remember how long it took me to get used to my locker. If you have a little trouble with opening your locker, remember that there are teachers to help. Can't wait to see you next year! Good luck!

Hello 4th soon to be 5th graders, my name is Kallie, unfortunately as you know we will not be able to give you a tour of our beloved school - A.R.I.S. But student council is still here to give you a few tips for your first few weeks as 5th graders.
1. You will get a map of your school as well as your teachers names. Periods and locker combination, I advise you to take your map along with you wherever you go until you know your way around the school.
2. If you can't open your locker or find a class ask a teacher for help, remember they are always there for you.
3. It is best if you would practice your locker combination at home until you have it down and remembered.
4. It would be wise to have all of the necessary items in your cinch-sack to avoid being late for class. You will only have three minutes in between classes and the halls can get crowded.

Hello 5th graders, I'm Kaitlyn and my best friend Ava on the call. We are both going into 7th grade MIDDLE SCHOOL and we enjoyed our times in ARIS. One thing you should know is that you should have at least a little respect to the "upper class" just be nice. On bus rides there might be bullies but violence is never the answer to take out your anger. You should be nice to them but don't let them take that as an advantage. Try not to be late to class but if so don't make an excuse just tell the truth! Me, Ava, and our friends talked a lot in the hallways but we were ending up late. Gym was teh only time to be together but we had to listen to our gym teachers instead of talking. We know it can be hard but you can have fun when you know the rules to the game and start to play. Hope this was helpfull! We both missed a lot of things in 6th grade try and make it the best years in ARIS for everyone who had missed out!

Hi 4th graders! My name is Kushi and I'm part of the student council. I am in 6th grade and I can't believe how much fun I had at A.R.I.S. Because of this pandemic we can't give you a tour of the school, but this is the next best thing. Here are some tips I have for you.
- During open house take as many of your locker items with you. Your lockers will be crowded so it might be hard to set it up.
- You will get a map of the school so take it with you until you're comfortable enough to go without it.
- Finally, if you're having trouble getting your locker open, don't be afraid to ask help from your teachers. Good Luck!

Hi, my name is Arjun, I am a 6th grader and I am on student council! I am going to HMS next year and will miss ARIS tremendously. When you see ARIS from the outside you may be overwhelmed by the amount of kids, the second floor and that there are lockers and periods and combinations and names to remember, I know I definitely was. Every single teacher I've had has been wonderful and my older sister thought so as well. The teachers will make sure you are comfortable in school by helping you with your locker and getting to your classes.

My favorite things about ARIS have been the Carnival and my 5th grade field trip to a planetarium. Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus the sixth graders weren't able to go to Forest Lodge, which is basically a place where there is a pool, we also missed out on Rival week where all of the gyms in your period compete in sports. Am I upset... yes, yes I am, but theres always the middle school hershey park trip. This is completely of topic of Hershey Park but you get to bring your computers home with you.

You can do band or orchestra, I participated in band and played the saxophone (Ms. Chaya is really nice), there are two gyms, there is a bell, there are periods, lockers, nice teachers, talent shows, halloween costume parties, inflatable rides, carnivals, field trips, clubs, computers and much more! I know I will miss ARIS and when you leave you will miss it as well. I hope COVID is over when you read this, if not stay safe and stay healthy!

Hello, my name is Kaylen Radziszewski! I am a sixth grader at ARIS. I am so happy to share all of my experiences from ARIS with you! ARIS has so many different things to look forward to!
For instance the lunch menus have many varieties of foods so that you'll always have something that will taste good to you.

Not only does our school have great lunches but we also have great clubs that you can take part in, such as sports club, robotics club, and more.

Here are a couple more important things to know about ARIS!

- There are two floors but the second floor is mostly for sixth grade classes

- Carnival otherwise known as field day is extremely fun and has inflatables, photo booths, and other types of summer games to play such as soccer, a water balloon game, and more!

- There are lockers at ARIS that you can customize on the inside with locker shelves, mirrors, magnets, ect.

- During recess you can play gaga, basketball, soccer, football, or just hang around the playground!

- You can chose to play an instrument in either band or orchestra

Lastly here are a couple of tips!!!

- To remember your locker combination you should write it down and keep it in a safe place, I wrote mine on the inside of a wristband. I never forgot my combo because I always had it on me.

- Keep your periods list with you so that you don't forget a period or go to the wrong classroom

That's it! Have a great time becoming a 5th grader! I hope you will enjoy it!

Maybe even try for Student Council.
2-Always remember to turn in your work on time. I don't want to scare you, but the earlier the better because you can get it off your chest
3-Last but not least, have fun! I know I said that soooo many times but you'll see why I said it. Have fun with your new friends and teachers.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys next year!!

See you in the hallways!!!

Hey, my name is Anna and I'm a sixth grader at ARIS. I remember when I was in your shoes 2 years ago. Although it was so long ago I still remember the fear and stress I felt coming into 5th grade. But I will say it and I will say it loud, DONT STRESS!! Although it might seem scary I promise you it isn't. In fifth grade all of your classes are in the same hallway so there really isn't much moving around. And in reality you only have about six teachers (if you do band. If not you have 5) But most of the day you go back and fourth between 2 classes with the exception of lunch, gym, band, and related arts (art and music) and even those classes aren't far away from your regular classes.
Also, take it easy. For some people its easy for them to get used to a new environment, but for some it takes a little longer. So don't stress and don't pressure yourself to understand and be able to know your way around ARIS and open your locker on the first day. Oh and your teachers and all the adults in the building will help you get to your classes, open your locker, and have the most stress free year at ARIS!.

Hi guys! I'm Xiomara and I'm a 6th grader so I'm going to the Middle School next year. Fifth grade was really great. Some advice i would give you is probably, don't turn out like some of the 6th graders on your bus. DON'T let the bullies get to you. You know it's not true and they are just being mean. BE POSITIVE! Whenever your in a situation that isn't that great, just be positive and you'll see it's alright. I remember when I first came to ARIS. I was soooooooo nervous. Once I met my teachers, and made some friends, the year was going smoothly. It was like, so awesome. Their are a lot of fun clubs and activities to try. Their are fun things like carnival where there are lots of fun rides, even though the lines are long. Rival week is where the 6th graders gym clasess play against each other in games. Forest Lodge is another 6th grade trip that unfortunately, we didn't get to. If you chose to play an instrument, the music teachers are really nice. They will help you become a great musician. Just know that ARIS is a really great school with really great teachers and you will be a really great student at ARIS!

Yes, school is a little bit hard but if you are having trouble you can always ask one of your teachers. And make sure you make some friends! When I first got to Aris I was super nervous that I wouldn't have any friends. I made some great friends and things were alright. Make sure you stay positive and be kind to everyone! See you soon!

Hi everyone, My name is Anaya Shah and I am a sixth grader and student council member at ARIS. Wow, time really does fly when you are having fun which you will have tons of at ARIS, but today I will be sharing some tips for you to have a fun, successful, and enjoyable year!

1. learn a way that you can cope with failure. I know most of you have heard that all the assignments get very hard when you are in 5th and 6th grade and it is true so realistically you may get a worst grade then expected on one of the assignments but that is not something to cry about. You should learn from your mistakes and find ways to cope with that feeling. My way of coping was talking to friends!
2.Know that practice make progress not perfection! No one is perfect and actually my 5th grade teacher Miss Bryan-Ashwell taught me this. I know it's easy to get carried away and think that if you spend 5 hours learning a certain skill then you will be perfect at it but that is not true! Always strive for progress not perfection and that will always be enough!
3.Slow Down!! To some people it might seem like you are getting 20 times as much homework as before but you know that is not true. When you get home you have to break everything down and take breaks every 30-45 minutes (if it even takes that long) just so you can rest your brain. Use it as a productive break though. DO NOT use it to go on your phone, Ipad, Tv, or laptop! Go get a snack or do some exercises!
4.Be kind to Yourself! If you don't get the grade you were expecting then don't go so hard on yourself!
5. Balance! when you get out of school take breaks to do things thatare not school related like hanging out with your family!!
6. Become a lifelong learner! If you are interested in a topic you are learning then dig deeper and do your own learning or research just so you can learn more (and maybe impress a teacher or 2)
So these were some of my tips and I really hope you all have a fantastic time at ARIS!!!!

Hello, my name is Nick. I am a 5th grader at Auten Road, and I think that you will have a great time here. Here at ARIS, you will make many new friends, get your own locker, switch classes every period, and join clubs.
There may seem like a lot of new things, and you may feel over whelmed or scared, but after a few days, you will get used to the new building. Remember that you are not the only one new here, and if you need help, ask a friend or teacher! The teachers are all great and I am sure they will be willing to help you.
You will get your own locker in grades 5 and up! This may seem complicated and hard, but trust me. It is actually really simple if you remember your code. You can make a password reminder on google docs to keep track of all your passwords.
Remember to have fun and do your best!!!

Hi my name is Annika Chadha. I am a 5th grader at Auten road. I cant wait to tell you all the good things about this school. First thing is there are so many kids your age and older so if you do not know anyone in your pod its OK because there will be plenty of people you will make Friends with. Another thing is maybe the school is big and the hallways are long once you get your tour by your teacher it feel like you already know the school by heart! And the last thing is The lunches are great if you like to eat at school it will be so much better between snapples at lunch and pudding cups for dessert. Hope you guys have a great your at Auten Road and if you ever see me in the hall next year feel free to say hi.
