Female student: she said her and her friends think the housing crisis is very bad because when you have student debt you can't buy a house

Male student: he is currently going between his parents house and couch surfing while trying to find accommodations that are affordable and close to school.

Define:

We talked to 2 girls who expressed their concerns about relying too much on AI models like ChatGPT for tasks that require mental effort. Interestingly, they also talked about how much we depend on our phones in every aspect of life; and how we only realise it once we are left without the phone. For instance, having your bus ticket in your phone means you aren't able to take the bus if you forget your phone at home.

International students often have no local social network or family to fall back on if they cannot find a place to live.

(2) The second person we interviewed did not had any trouble finding a house. He was Dutch, so he had a lot of connections who knew a place for him to stay.

Zoe: Dutch Female Full-time Student

Sean: Irish Male Exchange Student

Define:

Zoe: Chalked up a lot fo her beliefs on the housing crisis to policy failures and mismanagement, particularly around the vacancy of livable apartments, lack of housing projects, and less financial allocation for home-building associations.

Sean: Felt very frustrated with the combination of a lack of housing availability, combined with the exorbitant housing cost for not much. Expressed his frustrations of staying in a hostel for a week before moving in when coming to campus this semester.

Define: we are getting less skilled and intuitive with doing easier activities due to digital dependency.

Not remembering things, calculators, GPS.

We lack the knowledge of topics from start to finish.

Empathise: Rotterdam native female dutch student (20)

Define: Kebab shop worker had a hard timing finding a place to live on his own; lived with his parents for a long time.

Female Dutch Student: she thinks the problem is severe, even her Dutch friends had huge issues finding housing. High rents and scarce resources are the main issues here.

Japanese exchange: living with a family friend. Wants to move out but its is hard to find one within her budget.

Man: He thinks that it is a double edged sword, with proper education and guidelines it could help with employees/students with productivity. However, it could also quickly distract them and create a dependency/addiction and ruin their critical thinking.

Woman: The main concern was more about where is the data going and to be careful with what we share with them.

Some people also do not care about being dependent and do not see it as a Grand Challenge.
