I think that the publishing of the novel Silent Spring was one of the best things that could've happened for the environment. Carson realized there was a significant problem with humans continuing to use DDT and that if she didn't raise awareness to the issue it could have caused irreversible damage. This also makes me think that people need to still care about the environment this much and what happens to it. People don't realize how much we rely on a sustainable and healthy environment and that it is up to us to keep it that way.

I feel grateful that Rachel Carson was brave enough to stand up to everyone who didn't believe her or care to listen and still make a change. She fought back against everyone who doubted her and continued to push for what she believed in and new was right, ultimately resulting in one of the best environmental decisions and discoveries anyone has made.

I would like to see people like Rachel Carson continuing to make and want to make efforts towards better our environment and truly paying attention to the things that they do that can cause harm to our environment. We all love being able to go to the zoo to see all different kinds of animals or waking up in the morning and seeing birds in the trees so lets all continue to make sure we are able to still see these animals thriving in their environment.
