Those students seem to get marked present but then will fail class And need intervention. what do we do with those students?

Late Work vs. Attendance.

Let us remember that students and families are struggling with distance learning. This is taxing for them. So I am finding that most of my students are turning in work very late. I have started to extend my due dates on assignments because it isn't just one or two students.... it's MANY of my students. Because of this, taking attendance is a time- consuming challenge. So the student isn't present in class that day. I mark them absent. Then I see they completed the assignment I gave that day four or five days - sometimes a week- later. Do I go back and mark that student present? This is really difficult to be mindful of and manage.

I would like a LOT more clarity on this. HOW should agendas be posted? How should they be organized? Is assignment tracking merely adding a time value to assignments or does every time-based item on our agenda need to be an assignment where we track student completion? What about larger projects that are worked on over the course of several days--do these need to be broken down into smaller assignments that are tracked daily?
