I personally have had experience working with the therapy dog program, and think this is an awesome program to incorporate into your in-school setting.  I’ve seen first hand positive impact on students with varying special needs (increased confidence) and neuro-typical students (think your struggling readers – dogs don’t judge!).
 
Therapy Dog services are provided across Canada by St. John's Ambulance in a wide range of community settings such as: hospitals, seniors residences and care facilities, schools, universities and colleges, community centres and libraries.
 
 By having an opportunity to interact with a therapy dog, individuals experience many health benefits that come with the unconditional love that dogs bring.
