Schools should cut spending on sports related events such as baseball, football, etc this will increase alot of money for the shcools that could use it for music programs or trips for the students .If you think about it the teams each year get new equipment uniforms and etc,the music programs dont get anything in comparison to the sports related spending.Music is also important just as the education such as books new i pads etc.

I think and strongly believe that school districts should cut spending on Plant Maintenance and Operations to better the Social Work Services. We spend about 14 million on simply buying supplies to fix our schools and keep everything in shape (not to mention that the maintenance workers don't get payed enough). For our Social Work Services we only end spend about 15 thousand. If we cut the budget for the betterment of our Social Work Services, we can work more efficiently with those people that are struggling to obtain money and contribute to help their children to get a good education.

School Districts and cutting spending, well at least 90% of school district budget is used directly related to teachers and what they do in the classroom. And like Jesus mentioned about sports related events alot of those use fundraising activities and even placed advertising, so its hard to say what to "cut" for the consequences of cutting anything is negative to such areas that would be considered. No matter what we think negative consequences will happen to anything we decide to cut, all i can say is we need more revenue to find creative sources of funds.

I think the areas the school district should cut spending is on the size of their payroll. It can be reduced by having the district hire an outside contractor like for maintenance. The district will pay less and save money but the consequence might be the overall quality work an outsider might show for the work the school needs rather than a school employee who might show their love and commitment to the school. Also, there may be a way to keep computers, or equipment longer for an additional year rather than upgrading all the time. This can help save money for the next school year for other areas that may need the assistance. The possible consequence is if the students are negligent towards the equipment or computers, it would defeat the purpose because then repairs would have to be made and money would have to be used. It would just depend on how the students would take care of the schools things.

It's really hard to choose an area in where to cut spending. Many kids see sports as a way to achieve in something they like but also to help motivate them in keeping up their grades. As well as band, getting into competition, and simply doing extra activities which helps many students stay out of trouble. One thing I wold cut would be spending in all small areas not just one. Simply cutting back just a little will affect every part of the school, which will still have a bad outcome. Many students, and teachers will be outraged, but there could be other ways in bringing up the money by raising the money on their own. Getting students involved in bake sells, or doing a car wash to buy their uniforms. Getting the community to donate in school supplies because after all, all these resources will be going towards their children not just anyone.

It's definitely a tough decision. In order to make a decision, we would first have to look into where the money is going. How Many school programs are there. Weigh it out, what is the most important to the least. Options could be not terminating, but cutting some funds. Are there too many teachers, what is the size limit per classroom per teacher. There are a lot of areas to look into. Sports? Band? Its all necessary to keep the school going, for students to stay active, alert, and interested, so they can have a motive to continue their education. So, where to start? I would say those after school programs, that work like tutoring, but do not come close to it. My children would stay after school for Ace, an after school program that was suppose to help them to catch up on school work and get hep on homework. They would come home with no homework completed, nor started on and would tell me that they would play outside or color in a room. this is money being thrown to the trash. Why spend so much if children do not benefit from it? It won't affect the school nor the children, if programs like Ace were to be financially cut.

I strongly believe that school districts should not cut school spending, just maybe like in sports. Sports are a big distraction from doing great in school. Its whether doing great in school or doing sports and I think that sports should have their cut in money. Whether we like math or science or whether we don't we should never have school cut spendings in those areas. Maybe just having a limit and not over do themselves.

It a very difficult decision but I think that school districts can sometimes cut in personnel. As a former employee of a school district I used to see a lot of employees that were doing the same work as the other one. I'm talking about clerical and para professional positions like clerks and stuff. Every other thing is something that students look forward to doing in school like band, football, dance. And if they were to cut those extra curricular activities students may stop going to school and the schools will be affected by it. Personally when I was in high school I love going to school because I was in the marching band and I excelled in music. I loved to go to the football games to march and to entertain the crowd with our music.

I think school districts should cut spending in facility maintance. For example in all the remodeling they do at school's that isn't really necessary, thousands of dollars are being used each month for things students don't need. Trying to lower their light, temperature, water usage is something they should try doing. Turning off the restroom lights as well as classroom, cafeteria, and gym lights when not in use. The temperature on weekends is something that should be seen and the water usage.

I believe schools should not make cuts in personnel, teachers, or in sports. I think the cuts can be made in the clerical employees. I have seen first hand that there are many clerks and many seem to be doing the same thing. I personally do not think that 3 or 4 clerks are needed at the same time to do what 2 people can do. These things are very important. If teachers are fired this means the classroom sizes will be larger, and this only affects our students. Also, if there are cuts in the extracurricular department, students who love sports might loose interest in assisting school, and this is opposite of what we are trying to achieve. For example, if one clerk is dismissed from this position per school, the district would save the salary that was being paid to six or seven people.

That would be a tough decision, most areas are great for students in some sort of way. The last thing they should cut should be sports and gym etc. Students learn a lot from them, such as being more social and being able to know about excersice in such an early age which is great for students. Mostly cut back on items that aren't necessarily needed. such as cutbacks on school accessories that are necessary but not in a big bulk such as printers, computers. As long as theirs a good amount that will do the job. Their are many things, such as always turning off the lights, only using water for important things such as washing hands. When a school is low on income, they are able to fix that with fun raisers. Theres a solution for everything.

While on a budget,I believe schools should really look in to cutting on few things here and there. I can't think of one single thing that they shouldcut off completely. I believe every subject and every activity has it good and beneficial purpose but sometimes we spend more than necessary. Something I have noticed is how many teachers stay after school to dismiss elementary children, and even when I think it's crucial for the kids to be well taken care of and safe, in my opinion they are too many teachers getting paid extra just to stay after hours. If less teachers would to stay after school, there would still be enough personnel to provide a safe dismissal and they would be saving all that extra money and use it for buildings upgrades for example. Another thing that I thing would safe money is all the handouts they print out daily. I believe it should be norm to make everything delivered via electronic because now a days everybody has at least a phone where they can receive announcements, events, reports, etc. Without so much printing they would be saving money they use for paper, ink ( which is very expensive ) and the money they use for printers. Not to mention, how beneficial it would be for the environment if less paper would to be used.
