My name is Sandra Oppong. I am a DECE with the TCDSB in one of the kindergarten classroom. This is my fifth year in the kindergarten classroom. I recently got hired as a supply teacher with the SMCDSB and TCDSB but I will be starting in September. Working with children is my passion, I am able to make a change in a child’s life. I believe that children are our future and I love being the person that gives them this opportunity. In addition, I am able to provide the foundations that the child’s education will build on. With that been said, I am excited to learn more how to integrate technology in a classroom environment to assist all student needs.

My name is Rema Rodrigues. I am an ESL Itinerant Teacher with OCSB, presently working with K-6 students. This September will be my second year in the position, but now as a permanent teacher. I also work with OCDSB, which was the first school board I got hired with. I started my love for education and teaching working as RECE with both these boards, upon graduating from college. During summer, I continue to work as an RECE with OCSB's EDP programs. In addition to my passion for learning and teaching, I also have been interested in exploring the integration of technology in the classrooms. I am involved in my schools' Innovation Club, which is designed for junior students to explore and expand their knowledge of various online platforms. Students teach their new learnings to primary students and other staff members in the school. This promotes leadership and responsibility in our students, to go beyond their classroom learning, and connect their learning to their real-life experiences. We also explore the purpose and use of Coding. I still have lots of learning and practicing! In this course, I hope to gain further understanding and tools, that I could use in my own classroom and share with my colleagues, to meet the diverse needs of my students.

My name is Sarah DeMello, and I am currently an occasional teacher with DPCDSB who has a range of teaching experiences. I have been teaching for about 7 years in and around the province and country. As our society and culture transition many of life's daily necessities through the use of technology, our children have become so dependent on using it for a variety of purposes. I decided to take this AQ to further my personal ability to connect and communicate with my students in a digital way. Hopefully, this course will help to to achieve this task and make both teaching and learning more fun and engaging for myself and my students.

I am thrilled that summer is finally here and that I am able to take an AQ that I hope will help improve my digital literacy and ability to engage my students. I think it is important to find ways to integrate technology where we can into the classroom since so many of my/our students are extremely tech savvy... many of which are more so than I! I've noticed that when I do integrate tech into my teaching with Kahoots or google classroom quesitons/discussion boards, my students are far more engaged. I am really looking forward to learning new things about various educational apps and websites that I can use in my teaching!

Hi everyone! My name is Rebekah Follows; I teach in the OCSB (Ottawa Catholic School Board). I am a relatively new teacher who’s ideal teaching job has always been kindergarten. This year was my first full year teaching in an LTO position. I taught kindergarten until December and Grade 4 math and language the whole year. It was a fantastic experience! However, I did realize that my heart really, truly lies with kindergarten. Just last week, I was hired for a PERMANENT 0.75 kindergarten position at a student support school in my board. I can’t wait! :) I am hoping that this AQ course will help equip me with some strategies and the knowledge necessary to bring more technology into my classroom. Outside of teaching, I love to bake, decorate cakes, craft, spend time with my German Shepherd Raven and my husband Sean. Currently, I am driving from Ottawa to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to visit my younger sister who’s stationed there for the military. I am also currently taking the “Kindergarten Part 1” AQ; so this should be a busy couple of weeks! I look forward to learning with everyone! :)

Hello from Ottawa!
Hello from Ottawa!
Hi! My name is Tracey Nesrallah and I am a grade 4 teacher with the OCSB. I have never taken an online course before and I am really looking forward to it.
I am back to teaching (permanent again 3 years ago) after taking some time off to stay home with my kids. I was a high school drama teacher with OCSB before so the elementary panel is still pretty new to me. I love elementary's push to integrate technology. I am really looking forward to adding more to my repertoire to better support my student's learning.

Hi all, Rob Long from Ottawa. I am a Learning Technologies Coordinator and have been here for 9 years. My classroom time is limited, so may need some help there. I do visit many classrooms throughout the year and work with teachers all the time.
I love working with technology and education and besides k-12, spent 5 years teaching college computer science, which is my tech background. I also worked as a software engineer for Nortel for 6 years and in a Community Relations/Government Relations/Sales Support role for 15 years, working to support technology in education using Nortel funding, around the world.
I am looking forward to the course.

My name is Tania Ferreira. I am an Occasional Teacher with the Halton Catholic District School. I just started in October 2017. Prior to that I was with the TCDSB as a Early Childhood Educator. My passion to see children strive and to see the excitement in their eyes when they’re learning something new. I hope with this course I learn how to deliver lessons and assignments with technology as the main focus to create a positive and fun learning environment! I am Primary and Junior focused, but I also have my Early Childhood Education. I live in Oakville, Canada. I absolutely love the idea of Padlet and I will definitely be using it!

Hi all!
Happy Summer! My name is Tanya and I am an Occasional Teacher with RCCDSB. I just completed a 6 month LTO teaching Core French from JK-Grade 8. During this experience I tried out a few different online tools to integrate technology into my program in hopes to maximize student engagement and learning, especially for my junior and intermediate students (building presentations with Google Slides, sharing and completing assignments using Google docs, playing and making our own "Kahoot's' as a study method, using 'Duolingo' to practice and build language skills etc.) The positive results and interest of the students intrigued me to want to learn more ways I can integrate computer technology into the classroom and keep up with my tech savvy students! :)

I am a Secondary school teacher in Muskoka. I teach Visual Arts and English in a one-to-one school. I am looking forward to sharing with all of you and learning as much as I can from everyone. I am also hoping to increase my fluency around digital literacy. New tech tips are also a fav topic!

I'm a Learning Technologies Consultant with the Ottawa Catholic Board. I was a Secondary Social Science and History teacher for 15 years previous to this assignment. I also am the lead with our board's elearning. I wanted to have an opportunity to see elearning from our student's lens and pick up some ideas and strategies we can share with our elearning team.

Although I'm in Ottawa at the moment, I'll be doing the second half of this course from Copenhagen, Venice and Croatia.
Hello All!
Hello All!
My name is Sarah Porter and I live and work in Toronto. I’ve been teaching with the TCDSB for almost 10 years and for the last 7 years I’ve taught grades 6,7 and 8. I love teaching students at this age because it’s amazing to watch and support them as they enter into adolescence and begin to figure out who they really are. A large part of why I chose to take this course is because students at this age are very active users of technology and I want to be able to better use technology to engage them in their learning and to be able to offer more advice about the safe and appropriate use of their devices and the social media that those devices give them access to.

Hello there everyone... I am excited summer is here and am now able to connect with all of you using cool digital apps like this one, Padlet.

Hi all! My name is Tammy and I am a Secondary English teacher with the HCDSB.

Hi everyone, I am a Kindergarten teacher from Windsor, WECDSB. I teach in a French Immersion school and like my photo says, I truly believe that Life if a Journey. This is my second career (former flight attendant) and I think my favourite part about being a teacher is learning along with my students. I have to admit, tech scares me a little, but I am so excited to learn about all that it has to offer! My 14 year old son blows me away when it comes to tech, but I hope to surprise him and my students with some new tricks of my own after taking this course.

Hi everyone!
My name is Sarah Casale and I am an Occasional Long Term Teacher with the DPCDSB. I just completed an LTO in a grade 1/2 classroom and it was such an amazing experience. I am very excited to take this course and learn about new ways to incorporate technology within the classroom. I took this course because I know that children are very active users of technology and I want to be able to make learning fun through the use of different sources of technology to allow them to be actively engaged! I look forward to working with all of you! :)

Hello!
My name is Stephanie and I am a Junior Teacher in the OCSB. I teach grade 5 in the am and Grade 6 in the PM at a Catholic school in Ottawa. I love this age group and feel it is where I should be! I just completed my first year as a permanent teacher and I am excited to continue to build my professional development over the next couple of years. My intention for this course is to engage more with the online world, learn different integrative approaches for my students and to be more confident using digital outlets for my teaching practice. I look forward to learning from each other :)

This past year I taught Grade 3/4 in Oshawa and will be teacher Grade 5/6 this coming year. I would consider myself pretty teach savvy and I enjoy using technology in my classroom as much as possible. This new generation of students are so technology inclined that most of the time they can navigate it better than us as adults. My goal this summer is to build my repertoire of technology knowledge, programs, apps etc., in hopes that I can better relate to my students in this coming school year. On a personal note, another goal this summer is to survive planning my wedding for the end of August, while taking this course and working as a swimming instructor all summer. Wish me luck! lol HAPPY SUMMER!!!!
