Our family originated from Kidapawan City, where we have deep roots and large extended family scattered throughout the city and even outside it. When I was just 3 years old, we moved to Davao and since then, we've embraced life as Dabawenyos and our family has continued to grow.

Despite being part of a large family, I haven't had the opportunity to meet most of my titas, titos, and cousin and only few of them are close to me. Similarly, I haven't had much exposure to our culture, including speaking Bagobo language. My understanding of our heritage is limited to the stories my grandmother shares with us. She'd tell us how blessed and challenging their life was. She describe our great-grandfather as scary, mighty yet a kind person who had a significant role in the community. She'd tell us how abundant and simple their life before.

I completed my elementary education at Ateneo. Throughout those six years, I maintained a consistent record as an honor student, consistently ranking among the top students in my class. During this time, I was particularly enthusiastic about pursing sports, dreaming of becoming a varsity player. I explored volleyball, badminton and track & field, but it wasn't mean to be.

They say junior high school is the best era in school life, but how? when all our high school years are online due to the pandemic? I never got to experience prom in grade 9, but at least I experienced my g7 on campus, attending music festivals, fiesta, campus pop, and intrams in school, and when we went back to the new normal, I was already in g10.

Grade 10 was the most memorable year for me during high school because not only we were graduating but I was really active and into dancing. Our club AFDC (Ateneo Folkloric Dance Company) was really active, and we would often practice at school. It was really fun, and it was my way of taking a break from the academics. Grade 10 was packed with numerous activities, including selling events, booths, participating in tulong-dulong, graduation bash, and much more

I like these medias because it fulfills my wants to communicate, for entertainment and discovery. I like Spotify because I love listening to music especially discovering music to dance to. Instagram allows me to post pictures and videos. Messenger make me stay connected with my family and friends. I use Tiktok when I am bored or in need to find something. Pinterest is a platform I can use for discovery and inspirations. Facebook can be used for various purposes.

These platforms influence various aspects in my life like my lifestyle, aspiration, attitudes and behavior by opening my eyes to different things that I can actually apply in my life. It exposes me to different lifestyles and ideals that impacts the way I think and I act towards myself and others. The content I see in these different media platform influences me and affects how I see life and my surroundings. z

For me, it's healthy depending on the way you take and balance the content and engagement on these platform. We must use social media responsibly to avoid negative effects on our well-being. We must also engage in 'offline' activities to also balance it out. It is important that we must think of our health before entertainment.
