         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Assess any joint pain, muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, especially if accompanied by fever, malaise, and dark-colored urine. Advise patient that these symptoms may represent drug-induced myopathy and that myopathy can progress to severe muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis). Report any unexplained musculoskeletal symptoms to the physician immediately, and stop exercise and gait training until these symptoms can be assessed.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Monitor signs of hypersensitivity reactions, including pulmonary symptoms (tightness in the throat and chest, wheezing, cough, dyspnea) or skin reactions (rash, pruritus, urticaria). Notify physician if these reactions occur.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Assess dizziness that might affect gait, balance, and other functional activities. Report balance problems and functional limitations to the physician, and caution the patient and family/caregivers to guard against falls and trauma.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Design and implement aerobic exercise and endurance training programs to improve cardiovascular function and help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Counsel patients about additional interventions to help control lipid disorders and improve cardiovascular health, including dietary modification, regular exercise, moderation of alcohol consumption, and smoking cessation.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Instruct patient to report signs of drug-induced hepatitis (anorexia, abdominal pain, severe nausea and vomiting, yellow skin or eyes, skin rashes, flu-like symptoms) or pancreatitis (upper abdominal pain after eating, indigestion, weight</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Medication should be stored in a closed container in a cool, dry, dark place, out of the reach of children.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Assess for signs of bleeding and hemorrhage, including bleeding gums, nosebleeds, unusual bruising, coughing up blood, black/tarry stools, hematuria, and a fall in hematocrit or blood pressure. Be especially alert for signs of intracranial bleeds, including sudden severe headache, confusion, nausea, vomiting, paralysis, numbness, speech problems, visual disturbances. Notify physician or nursing staff immediately if these signs occur.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Be alert for signs of recurrent cardiac ischemia (chest pain, pain radiating into the arm or jaw, shortness of breath, dizziness, sweating, anxiety) or recurrent peripheral arterial thrombosis (pain, cramping, coldness, cyanosis in the affected limb). Notify physician or nursing staff immediately if these signs occur.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Monitor signs of recurrent thromboembolism and PE such as shortness of breath, chest pain, cough, and bloody sputum. Notify physician immediately, and request objective tests (Doppler ultrasound, lung scan, others) if PE is suspected.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Assess heart rate, ECG, and heart sounds when cardiac perfusion is restored. Report any rhythm disturbances or symptoms of increased arrhythmias, including palpitations, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, fainting, and fatigue/weakness.</li></ul><div><br></div><ul><li>Assess any muscle of joint pain to rule out musculoskeletal pathology or hemorrhage; that is, try to determine if pain is drug induced rather than caused by anatomic or biomechanical problems. Be especially concerned about back pain that could indicate retroperitoneal bleeding.</li><li><br></li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
