Additionally, it also led to building senses of individualism as well as religious/political thoughts (including the Church's position).

In 1587 Raleigh managed to convince English investors to get families to start a new colony.Sadly this attempt also failed. The settlers were stuck due to the usage of all ships to fight the Spanish Armada.Furthermore, a drought also hit bringing a colonist,John White, to go back for supplies.Due to the war he found great trouble in coming back but managed to in 1590, yet he returned to an abandoned colony which it's disappearance is still unknown. The only clue that was left was carved into a tree, which was one word, Croatoan.

A system that was created by the Spanish to make themselves rich by utilizing the Indians. They adopted previously existent tributary systems like the one between the Aztecs and their neighboring tribes. This system was very important to history in that as a result of the brutal treatment of Indians under this system, many priests worked to get rid of it. A famous example is the letter written by Bartolome de las Casas to the Spanish crown requesting for the abolishment of this system. His letter and the works of many others eventually led to new regulations being made to protect the Indians.

A meeting held by King Charles of Spain which concerned the treatment of the natives of the New World. It concerned two main attitudes towards the conquest of the Americas and the subjugation of the Amerindians. Bartolomé de las Casas, a Dominican friar who was the only one among those present with first-hand knowledge about the natives, argued that Amerindians were creations of God and deserved the same treatment as Christian Europeans. On the other hand, Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda, a philosopher and theologian who had never been to the Americas and who had never had any personal contact with Indian people, argued that Spain could wage a just war against the Indians because they were brutes, committed crimes against God and nature, and they were infidels who needed instruction in Christianity.
