I disected something that looked just like you yesterday."

This quote is showing Beneatha being independent because , she was saying she did an experiment in school. and the way she is being independent is saying bio is the greatest , the subject she is learning saying it is the greatest.

sarcastic

"we are dead now. All the talk about dreams and sunlight that does on in this house. It’s all dead now.” P. 143

this makes beneatha sarcastic because she is say saying the family is dead. sarcastic is when your in order to mock or your using sarcasm. and she was doing that becuase they arent really dead now , shes just saying that. she means that they are still poor and have nothing.

My personal opinion about beneatha is she is very independent , eager woman. she is sometimes sarcastic , but ca get alittle rude. she is a sympathetic person but she is an imprtant person. why she is an important person is because most of money was supposed to go to her. the check that they were waiting for.

Every moment is so small and brief
Yet is worth more than one can fathom
Sometimes joy, other times grief
A lot of the time it can be random

I wonder if the bad and good balances
And everyone is meant to live equally
Thinking like that has consequences
And I don’t have time for that really

So I choose to be selfish, make life mine
To make myself more important than others
If it all leads to happiness, isn't that fine?
Can I float along, not a leaf but as a feather?

This poem describes beneathea because it is about selfish , and during the book she was also selfish. she was only caring about herself most of the time she is selfish by the way she talks to the family.

There ain’t nothing as precious to me…There ain’t nothing worth holding on to, money, dreams, nothing else—if it means—if it means it’s going to destroy my boy.” P. 106

This quote relates to family. this is because mama is saying nothing will get between her and walter even if it was money or dreams. she was saying family is something holding on to. the family has nothing or dont own nothing so she was letting walter hold on. thats what family does.
