I find it interesting because of the stories behind it. This work of art challenges the norms of the industry, displays countless forms of artistic beauty, as communicating themes that speak to the one appreciating the art.

First, the art defies the rubrics for success in the industry of animated films. It is easy to derive success by keeping in line with convention. The movie took many design risks that were directly contradictorty to the the progress towards ever more realistic animation , spearheaded by studios like Pixar. The fact it was not just a protest but a real bet on its success is extremely inspiring. 

Second, the choices of art forms are impeccable. The use of dynamic points of view, thoughtful character design and a blend of pop, hip hop and compositions spesifically taylered to the movie create 
What stood out to me was the design of the character "the spot". The design of the character embraces construction lines, haphazard blotches of black and a plain white silhouette. These individual elements seem to be a recsipe for shit, but they somehow synergies to form a more than cohesive design. This also somehow communicated to me the idea of indifferent excellence ,effortless intention and the ability to get straight As without revision. The idea of a god trait of trancendent intuition.

Third, the themes covered possess piercing clarity, democratising its appreciation. It encompasses various dynamics between different types of people and questions individual ideologies to name a couple. These themes are conveyed subtly yet distinctly, speaking those who view the art. This makes the barrier of appreciating the full potential of the art low, breaking the convention of pretentious, meta, abstract art that you almost have to lie to yourself to appreciate.

It blends language and pictures together to create an unique and almost incomprehensible collection of pixels. Much like contemporary art, it is basically indecipherable to those without prior information and some general knowledge. Memes are a form of the artist's / original poster's (OP) thoughts and feelings about the current world situation. Just like art, they reflect what the artist is experiencing, showing through a collage of texts images of their attitude towards current events. Memes are also a medium where the artists are able to exercise creativity to elicit a emotional response or provide a thought provoking statement. The use of language is also important, linguistics can show the development of society and how societal norms shift over time. This is especially true in the era of the Internet, where any catchy phrase or a new word can be created and accepted by  the general populace and even Oxford themselves. The choice of words used in a meme is essential in achieving its goal of getting a response from the viewer. Hence, memes are a type of modern art. 

Why are memes so appealing to me? To be honest, its not just me, memes can be appealing to anyone that understands it or can appreciate the message it can convey. It provides a relatable experience and shows that one is not alone in facing the world. Memes about a current situation can provide appeal to those who understands it, experienced it, or even provide comfort in the knowledge that else where in the world there are people like you, who share your opinions and believes, and have a similar sense of humour. However, memes could be incomprehensible to those who do not have a prior knowledge, creating a barrier to some who just saw it. Due to the rapid rate of information transfer, some memes are built upon the foundations of other memes. If one is able to understand the context of the meme and the meme itself, it can become very appealing. 

For this meme specifically, it is shows an image of Joe Biden against a black background standing in front of what looks to be a podium, with the words: "It's Joever" over him. As Biden is looking down, frowning, this conveys the message that he is disappointed and upset. The fact that he is standing before a podium suggests that he has to be the bearer of bad news. Biden is the current 46th president of the United States, one of the most powerful people on Earth, the fact that he has to deliver bad news means something disastrous has taken place, that even he cannot do anything to solve it. The words "It's Joever" is just a play on his name and "it's over" By combining the two into "Joever", it provides comic relief as it is pretty funny, which is ironic provided that it is placed above a grim looking situation. The combination of dread and comedy makes this meme funny and appealing to me, as it is exactly how I feel about getting my block test results back. As I know I definitely did not do well, it is without a doubt over for me, however, I do not know how badly I would fail compared to my friends, which would be pretty funny seeing the disparity in marks. This meme perfectly encapsulates my feelings, and is very relatable and applicable to my current situation. Hence I chose this work of art and why I found it so appealing. This gave him a sensitivity to those things
which did not always behave as they were supposed to, giving him the inspiration to paint this piece of art. I feel that it is amazing how he is able to release his childhood trauma and memory by painting, and the large orange balloon as the person’s face also represents the trauma he went through. the man is wearing a suit, which is supposed to be for more formal purposes, hence the balloon becomes more outstanding and impactful in showing the contrast of his trauma.
