Just like in It's Big Brother Time!, this book also features characters which are oftentimes invisible in many other children's books(Ahuja, 2021).

"Rise Up and Write It combines a celebration of civic engagement with the hands-on fun of real pull-out examples of activism tools and is sure to encourage young readers to want to get up and get involved" (Ahuja, 2021). Along with the book, letters, petitions, posters, and protest signs are included for children. The book teaches children about activism and gives them some tools to become actively involved. The story includes diverse characters and follows them on a journey of activism. The characters are represented in respectful ways.

According to Harper Collins Publishing, Nandini Ahuja is a social worker in New York City. She is also of Indian heritage. I strongly believe that both of these things played a huge part in her writing the few, but powerful, anti-bias books of her career. Being a social worker in NYC, Nandini gets to work with many different people, of differing backgrounds and cultures, and help them in their everyday life.
