Imagine you are working on an urban planning project that seeks to develop flatlands into urban/sub-urban structures, while simultaneously lessening the harmful impacts of fragmentation on mountain lion populations. How do you design and then plan your city? (Do some research on google and then share your findings here) by Sara Catanese

I would map out where mountain lions live and travel, then create special areas like wildlife corridors (safe paths) for them to move across the city. The city should have parks, green spaces, and protected areas that connect with the natural environment, to help them stay safe. We also need to make sure buildings and roads don’t block their paths, so we build up instead of out, keeping more natural land.

To lessen the harmful impacts of fragmentation, prioritize protecting and improving connectivity between fragmented areas, and restoring degraded areas. This can be achieved through implementing and establishing protected areas, and sustainable land.

I would ensure that where I built my structures was mostly out of the way of where the mountain lions mainly stay. Allowing them to still live in protected land areas where they are safe and away from harmful or other items.
