Paraphrasing Definition: to reword a phrase or sentence to allow better understanding without copying the information word-for-word.

Move sentences around
Avoid copying what you are interpreting
Reword the text
Check that you have included all the information

Example:
Original:
Boston is a city located in Massachusetts. It is 89.63 square miles and has a population of 673,184 people. Boston is well known for its many tourist attractions. Fenway Park is in Boston, as is the Prudential Center.

Paraphrased:
Located in Massachusetts, the city of Boston has a population of 673,184 people. At 89.63 square miles, it has a lot of space for Fenway Park and  the Prudential center, two of its most popular tourist attractions.

Note that both examples have the same information, but in a different order and with different vocabulary in each.

Remember:
Not all words can be changed. Some things, like dates, names, places, etc. will have to remain the same for accuracy, and that's all right!
