It didn't happen often. If a Jewish person was born with light hair and eyes they could pretend to be German but they wouldn't have the correct papers. They would also need to be able to speak German. Many Jews did know German because they bought from or sold to them. It could work the other way too. If a German was born with dark features they could pretend to be Jewish but they wouldn't want to.
