Social media is a powerful way to connect with people, not just in your own city but all over the world. If FUNDENL starts using these platforms more, they could reach a lot more people and maybe get help from those who can really make a difference.

In the conference, they said they spread awareness by talking to people on the street and putting messages in parks. That’s a good way, but we think social media could help them even more.

They also said that when they protest, the government and some people don’t support them. This problematic is not really talked about and the government always tries to hide it. If they use social media to get more people on their side, it might make the government listen and even help them later on. After hearing this conference this gave us a new perspective of this topic and it really left us reflecting about it.

She works with FUNDENL, a group that helps families who are looking for their missing loved ones. FUNDENL gives emotional support and also helps people understand this problem by planning talks and public events. During these events, they share personal stories and ask powerful questions like “¿Dónde están?” to make people think about the crisis and its emotional impact.

Two main ways that Mrs. Lety and FUNDENL help are through advocacy and service. Advocacy means speaking up and sharing important information. Mrs. Lety and other women visit schools and communities in Mexico to talk about missing people. They teach others about justice, awareness, and how to help.

Service means helping people directly. FUNDENL helps families by giving them advice, walking with them during hard times, and showing them they are not alone. They offer comfort, hope, and useful resources.

Mrs. Lety’s story is similar to Antoine’s, who tells people to register to vote and learn about elections. Both believe that learning about what’s happening in the world—and doing something about it—is very important for real change.

Because of her strength and hard work, Mrs. Lety has helped her community and inspired many others to speak up and fight for justice.

Survivors have reported being misled by false job offers, leading to abductions and forced recruitment by criminal organizations. The federal government has acknowledged the findings, with President Claudia Sheinbaum committing to a investigation and proposing reforms to address the crisis. 

While the discovery emphasizes the severity of the situation, it also remarks the efforts of civilian groups in bringing these cases to light. The ongoing collaboration between authorities and civil society is crucial in addressing the systemic challenges contributing to forced disappearances in the country.
