name (eg. potato); date of buying (automatic); expiration date; date of opening.

How to manage items, like potato? You buy like 5 kg, than use 5 piece for cooking. How do we register the change?

We should store the map of the full house for later. Each room shall have a temperature sensor (also usefull for the plants)

How can the user enter their house layout? It might be trivial on a PC but we also need to consider smart phone users as well.
And are areas and shapes important? From the basic lightswitch perspective: I guess not, but there might be other things.

What to do in case of opposite commands (Dad: turn off the lights vs. Kid: turn on the lights). RBAC? If the kid doesn't behave well, their access can be revoked to modify the state of lights. Good daddy

By using neural network we can learn the habbits of early-in-the-morning public transport delays. We can guess if our train will be delayed depending on previous trains on that day. If our train is likely to be delayed -> wake up a few minutes earlier to catch the previous one.
