Leopardi was born into a local noble family in Recanati, in the Marche, at the time ruled by the papacy. His father, Count Monaldo Leopardi, who was fond of literature and a committed reactionary, remained an advocate of traditional ideals. His mother, Marchioness Adelaide Antici Mattei, was a cold and authoritarian woman, obsessed with rebuilding the family's financial fortunes, which had been destroyed by her husband's gambling addiction. A rigorous discipline of religion and economy reigned in the home. However, Giacomo's happy childhood, which he spent with his younger brother Carlo Orazio and his sister Paolina, left its mark on the poet, who recorded his experiences in the poem Le Ricordanze.

Although his aristocratic family was affected by the instability of the region, Leopardi was tutored extensively under private priests from an early age, showing a remarkable talent and thirst for knowledge. Within years of independent study, Leopardi became fluent in reading and writing Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, while he began translating various classical texts including Horace and Homer.

The text is:
Sempre caro mi fu quest'ermo colle,
e questa siepe, che da tanta parte
dell'ultimo orizzonte il guardo esclude.
Ma sedendo e mirando, interminati
spazi di là da quella, e sovrumani
silenzi, e profondissima quiete
io nel pensier mi fingo, ove per poco
il cor non si spaura. Of very deep sensitivity and boundless erudition, Leopardi became very soon self-taught through "years of mad and very desperate study", even as a teenager, to master various foreign languages and numerous disciplines, even very far from the history of literature. Some of his works are: Operette Morali (1824 ), stays in Rome (1822), Milan (1825), Bologna (1826), Florence (1827) where he establishes relations with Vieusseux and the intellectuals of the magazine “Antologia” and Pisa (1828) where he composes A Silvia.

The second one because it means like our condition. The pandemic situation. Yes, I know, it's a little strange but, if you think about that for one moment, it's true. The nature, after a "dark" period, wakes up and gets up, thanks to the spring and maybe, thank to the reciprocal hepls, to the vaccine, to the responsability, we could exit to the baddest era of the history, and if in this poem, there is a higher power han the our, we must exit to this scary and ugly situation.
(I don't how I wrote grammatic correctly but I hope the you can catch the meaning.)

The poem which I prefer is Bright Star; I love it because it's wonderful the point when he talks about the love between him and a woman. It's also beautiful the imagine where he says that he heard the woman's heart when he's on her chest. The last sentence represents his deep love.

Giacomo Leopardi is an italian poet. He was born on 1798 in Recanati. He has really strange eating habits: for example he had breakfast in the afternoon and lunch at midnight. He was sick, he has bone tubercolosis, but he was full of himself at the same time. In fact he was really rude with others. I love all the poem made my Leopardi, but the ones that I prefer are: A se stesso and Alla Luna.
A se stesso
Alla Luna
There are lots of famous quotes:
-“Sono convinto che anche nell'ultimo istante della nostra vita abbiamo la possibilità di cambiare il nostro destino.”
-“Il forse è la parola più bella del vocabolario italiano, perché apre delle possibilità, non certezze...

Giacomo Leopardi was born into a noble family in Recanati in 1798 and was one of the most important poets of Italian literature. His poems reveal his pessimistic conception of life, dominated by pain and unhappiness. a curiosity about this great poet is that he was affected by a serious illness, which caused him big pain. That is why he could not easily sleep. So, at night he observes for hours the moon and he also wrote a wonderful poem about it:

"O graziosa luna, io mi rammento
Che, or volge l’anno, sovra questo colle
Io venia pien d’angoscia a rimirarti:
E tu pendevi allor su quella selva
Siccome or fai, che tutta la rischiari.
Ma nebuloso e tremulo dal pianto
Che mi sorgea sul ciglio, alle mie luci
Il tuo volto apparia, che travagliosa
Era mia vita: ed è, né cangia stile,
O mia diletta luna. E pur mi giova
La ricordanza, e il noverar l’etate
Del mio dolore. Oh come grato occorre
Nel tempo giovanil, quando ancor lungo
La speme e breve ha la memoria il corso,
Il rimembrar delle passate cose,
Ancor che triste, e che l’affanno duri!"

Giacomo Leopardi (29 June 1798 – 14 June 1837) was an Italian philosopher, poet, essayist, and philologist. He is considered the greatest Italian poet of the nineteenth century and one of the most important figures in the literature of the world, as well as one of the principals of literary romanticism; his constant reflection on existence and on the human condition has also earned him a reputation as a deep philosopher. He is widely seen as one of the most radical and challenging thinkers of the 19th century but routinely compared by Italian critics to his older contemporary Alessandro Manzoni despite expressing "diametrically opposite positions." Although he lived in a secluded town in the conservative Papal States, he came into contact with the main ideas of the Enlightenment, and, through his own literary evolution, created a remarkable and renowned poetic work, related to the Romantic era. The strongly lyrical quality of his poetry made him a central figure on the European and international literary and cultural landscape.

He had a very difficult childhood for his isolation and his exaggerated study but also because of his illnes. Leopardi is certainly one of the greatest poets of all time. He wrote poems of strong introspection and also pessimism and depression. My favourite poem is "Il sabato del villaggio" because it give me wonderful feelings and I also can find myself in the poem
