Online Assessment Tool I Used for Science.

Wendy White
Have you ever tried Quizezz? I really like this assessment tool to use with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Science students. They have a large library of quizzes to choose from. The quizzes range in size from 3-20 questions (sometimes more!) and can be used as an Instruction Led Session (a live quiz) or as Asynchronous Learning (homework). For the Instruction Led Session the students can play a classic version (teams) or an instructor paced. In the Homework version, the teacher sets the deadline and the student must complete the assignment and turn it in by the due date. My students love the classic version when we played in teams just like Kahoot! This game offers a different format from Kahoot! Both games are engaging and competitive and offer reviews and assessments in fun and exciting ways!

I have used testmoz a few times as well as Google Forms.
Testmoz allows you to create assessments but you are limited to the number of questions and responses per test. It cost $50 if you want to sign up for unlimited options.
Google Forms can be used and posted directly on Google Classroom if that is the platform you use with your students. You create the quiz, post the link and you can import the score on Google Classroom as soon as they complete it. I like Google Forms as well because if the student is using a ChromeBook you can use "lock mode" to lock the tab so they are unable to open any other tabs while the test is open. Pretty neat feature!
-Shanae Moreno

Jeopardy Labs is a website with lots of pre-made games for students at all age levels. You can also make your own using their template. It is free and you can post links for students to practice at home for tests or other assessments. My favorite time to play is as a math review before a test of quiz and by putting students in teams with white boards to solve.
https://jeopardylabs.com/build/

I know a lot of the other Google products were listed in the presentation, but I think Google Sites has a load of potential. My students all have a Google account through school, and giving them the ability to produce web content on a specific subject or bit of content sounds fun. Disciplines like English and Social Studies, which share content, can both use these student-created Sites.

Google Sites can even be used as a form of digital portfolio, itself an assessment tool. All students need to do is embed their work on the Site, which is especially simple if they do their work within other Google tools like Docs.

--David Dutrow

I have been a Middle school Math teacher off and on the past few years depending if a pull out group is needed and I love using Kahn Academy. I assign work that fits our current topics and the students complete it at their pace. Each assignment is worth a small amount of points and works great as a formative assessment. The students get immediate feedback as to the accuracy of their answers and this platform provides opportunities to do problems multiple times as needed. I feel this is a great tool that offers students a chance to practice Math in a very engaging format and provide immediate feedback which is often difficult for teachers to accomplish as easily. Students also have support videos if they are confused and are working from home (virtual)or at night on homework.

_Kathleen Oleszczuk
