The reason as to why I chose this setting is mainly due to my fascination with the Sci-Fi genre. So I have a wide understanding as to what atmosphere fits which demographic. I feel that this design of environment from the film Passengers as each of the different rooms give a different feel as the colour pallet, scale and design really changes the mood of the viewer. For instance, the cafeteria in the first image makes me actually hungry and not to mention that it does look as though it would be fairly cold which is all thanks to the colours used. Whereas the posh bar on the bottom left as well as the living spaces on the right which personally gives me the sense of homeliness, warmth and hospitality with the use of the colours and the modern'ish design. ]]> 2018-02-02 10:21:15 UTC https://padlet.com/oliten2000/8df6trnhxxbq/wish/227418799 oliten2000 https://padlet.com/oliten2000/8df6trnhxxbq/wish/227426106 The next inspiration I'm taking influence from is the game Fallout 4 and the extremely advanced Institute. Even though the actual setting of this area is actually underground but the overall aesthetic is Sci-Fi based so it can be used in a "space ship" kind of theme. Much like the Passengers' interior, it does indeed utilise the modern type of design but instead of making the vast open areas of different colours, it only uses the same dull colour pallet of the white, grey, blue and green which once again gives me the impression that its a fairly cold area and just has the connotations of an uninviting feel in general.

The use of the trees in this open area make the overall design look like some sort of hub. This is reinforced by the living spaces with the additions of the balconies which be seen to include furniture and living amenities.

The overall concept of my level is similar to both the Institute and the ship from the Passenger. I'm going for the nice, well polished design similar to the institute where it will have a very nice homely feel with the Passengers through the use of colours and materials. Not to mention the overall design too.
