When Eddie gets to heaven he meets the "Blue Man." This mans skin is blue, like he's been in a freezer forever. Eddie is wondering why he is blue. In this scene the blu man explains how back them they used silver nitrate as a medication. After awhile he didnt think it was working properly so he decided to take more. Then his skin started to develop a ash grey color to it.

The Blue Man is explaining to Eddie the way he died. He died while trying to save Eddies life. This page stood out to me because even though the Blue Man didn't know Eddie he still sacrificed his life by trying everything he could to not hid little Eddie. This scene also reminded me of Eddies kind heart. Eddie died, and went to heaven because he was saving a little girls life and giving his up.

In the book snap above it shows the end of the chapter. Eddie asks his captain "Did I save that girl?" (Albom 96). The captain responded and told Eddie "I cant tell you, soldier," (Albom 96). My prediction is that Eddie did not save the little girl when he jumped under the ride. I also think for the next person Eddie meets in heaven is the little girl that Eddie sacrificed his life to try and save.

The lesson of sacrifice is taught in "The Second Lesson" of the five people you meet in heaven because in life there is always some type of sacrifice. Sacrifice can come in all different shapes and forms. Unfortunately the lesson of sacrifice was taught in this chapter because Eddies captain had to sacrifice his life for Eddies knee. Sacrifice is a reoccurring theme in the book so far. Eddie got to heaven because of sacrifice. He gave up his life to try and save the little girl. Another example of sacrifice is the first person Eddie met in heaven that sacrificed his life to save Eddie when he was a child.

When Eddie meet his second person it is his Captain from war. He is met by his captain in the field of where war took place. Eddie is very confused because he is unsure of why his Captain would choose such a bloody hell for his idea of heaven. Eddies captain explains to him that his idea of heaven is the field of war before war. Before everyone got killed, before guns were shot, and before bodies were lying around, you had to step over them.

In this book snap it shows a scene of the book of how Eddie hurt his knee in war. Eddie was being told to get out because it wasn't a safe situation. Eddie was convinced there was someone in the barn still as the roof was beginning to crumble above them. Eddie thought it was someone on his team. When Eddie ran in to go get him, he was shot. The person Eddie was trying to save was an enemy. Eddie injured his knee because of this. Eddie was always trying to help people even if it meant his life was on the line.

While Eddie is meeting his next person in heaven he is taken through many different countries and different cultured weddings. This is because Marguerite says the love between the bride and the groom looks the same throughout the world; “They truly believe their love and their marriage is going to break all the records,” (Albom 157). This is important because this scene shows the love that Eddie and Marguerite had, and why they were perfect for eachother.

"Life has to end," she said. "Love doesn't," (Albom 173). This quote is important because it teaches the lesson that Marguerite is trying to teach Eddie. The lesson is "power of love." Eddie and Marguerite had a very strong connection. Eddie always knew he was going to marry her. In this chapter Marguerite brings Eddie through many different weddings. The last one he goes to he finds Marguerite and the wedding they're in resembles their personal wedding from before they died.

While Dominguez was going through Eddies stuff to find any bank statements, etc. He came across a leatherbox that opened to different symbols of keepsakes. A black bow tie from Eddie and Margurites weddings, a deck of cards because his Dad used to always play cards. A army medal from when he was serving, and a polaroid picture of his Dads last birthday.

To Eddie himself, he was always "just the maintence guy." To others around him he was the person who kept all of the kids safe. Eddie fixed all the rides so the kids could go have fun, and be safe. Eddie never looked at being the maintenance guy has being the person who saves many children's lives without even realizing it.

Eddie was never just the "maintenance guy" at Ruby Pier. Eddie was loved, thoughtful, and the person many people were thankful for. Eddie changed many kids lives, and made their days better just by making sure a childs favorite ride was safe for them to go on.
