On 17 March 2024, protests started in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba's second largest city. Protests started because of food shortages and power outages.

There's also a ton of crime in Cuba right now, so don't be surprised if you get robbed while you're on vacation there.

And in June there was a massive surplus of Russian navy vessels docking in Cuban ports. No one knows if it was necessary or if the Russians want to run it back.

One of the biggest known traditions in Cuba is smoking handrolled cigars. Some people dont know that there's a "ritual" that comes with it. It's not just lighting up the cigar and starting to smoking. The most important part of smoking cigars is the social side of it. Cigars are a vital part of social gatherings in Cuba, so if you get offered one by a local or a random in a bar, that means he/she is down for a little social interaction.

People visit Cuba for their rum and traditions, Cuba's capital Havana is a very popular vacation spot. Vacations in Cuba can overwhelm some foreigners, with their festivals and "anti-shy people" traditions. Old and classic cars are very common in Cuba for good and bad reasons. Tourists also enjoy seeing the old and withered mansions left abandoned in Cuba, not to mention their beautiful beaches and the occasional plantain. And if you're brave you can explore the jungles of Cuba too.

Cubans participate in salsa, cha-cha, and many others. The Cuban Rumba is a type of Cuban music with dance, percussion, and Cuban music. It comes from northern regions of Cuba, in Havana and Matanzas, sometime in the 1900's. It gets inspiration from African music and their dance traditions.

My favorite part of Cuba is the cars and scenery. Havana (even though I've never been) is one of the prettiest cities in the Western Hemisphere. Classic cars are widespread, as well as modified cars. Beautiful ports, resorts, and murals are scattered throughout Cuba, but mostly in its capital Havana. I've been on a cruise that sailed past it, and just from that you can see that the city is full of energy and beauty.

Cuba's main sports are baseball, soccer, and boxing. I love boxing, but the most prevalent sport in Cuba is baseball. originating from American sailors docking in Havana, they introduced Cubans to baseball and they instantly fell in love with it. But sports in general there are very popular seeing as how the government is very supportive of sports programs and doesn't hesitate to fund them.
