The video that was entitled " Stephen Krashen's Theory of Second Language Acquisition" lasted for 44 minutes. The video was conducted by Teacher Mars a Cebuana teacher. According to her, the video was the continuation of her recent video about Stephen Krashen's theory of First Language Acquisition. Stephen Krashen was known because of his theories of language acquisition. The video talks about how we can acquire our second language, are there some factors to consider, are there some ideas or signs that we already acquire our second language. To get to know more about the content let us dig deeper and let us get into details— note, that to be able to understand, you should watch the video first.

The video was quite long, but if you were going to watch it from the beginning up to the end, you will learn an important lesson that you do not know existed. I can say that because that's what happened to me while watching it. Teacher Mars talks about how we acquire our second language according to Stephen Krashen. Before going into details, she states that it is important to know what acquisition is and how to differentiate it from learning. She discusses the difference between acquisition and learning, it is necessary to know the differences between the two because it will help you distinguish whether you acquire the language naturally or you learnt it from a formal schooling. According to Teacher Mars, one of the key parts to consider in teaching the learners is to provide a "comprehensible input". Comprehensible input is a language input that you gave to students to make them understand the lesson, and it is not necessary to follow the grammatical structures and what is right and wrong. It also emphasizes that even though a learner does not know the correct structures and form, she can still learn by being given a comprehensible input. Comprehensible input is a factor that is very necessary to learners because it makes them able to understand a complex topic and how they can apply that knowledge in real life scenarios.

Teacher Mars included the best methods in teaching language and provided the five hypotheses that were highlighted in Stephen Krashens theory of Second Language Acquisition. It is the Acquisition-Learning Hypothesis, Monitor Hypothesis, Affective Filter Hypothesis, Natural Order Hypothesis and the Input Hypothesis. It was quite complex to understand but she made it bearable.

Teacher Mars was a great teacher. She knows how to hit the spot of the learner. She knows how to make the learners understand the topic very well. She takes her time discussing, she speaks not too fast and not too slow, just the right pace for the learners to follow and understand. Her enunciation was very clear. She speaks the medium of instruction fluently. She provides a lot of examples and makes sure that all of those are relevant to the learners lives. She contextualizes all the examples and recontextualize if needed to make it more personal to the learners so they know where, when and how to use it or apply it in their everyday life. She makes the topic simple and easy to understand and not too complex.

She explains the topic naturally and spontaneously, there were no fillers that disrupts discussions, there were no unnecessary words or any actions that distract her. The quality of voice was audible, it was very clear and very soothing to hear. The way she discusses it, I can definitely say that she mastered the topic very well, because it was spontaneous. While watching I can not spot a thing that she needs to work on. She is just a great teacher that knows how to deliver her discussion very well and ensure that the learners understand the topic.

The video, the content, the presentation, the discussion, all of those are organized very well, very mastered and very prepared. Even if the video was quite long, you can not find yourself not ending the video. The content was very relevant to every learners because it tackles about how can we acquire our second language and what are the key parts to consider in determing if we acquire the language naturally or through learning. The presentation all in all was chef kiss, it catered to some of the different learners —since we all have different learning styles, such as the visual learner, the teacher provided some images to symbolize some of the terminologies and auditory learners, they can always listen the video and will not worry since Teacher Mars voice was audible and very clear. The discussion was topnotch, Teacher Mars did a great job in explaining and discussing the topic. The video provides you some important information to understand and it will surely remain in our memory.
